Thrive (charity)

Thrive (formerly called Horticultural Therapy) is a small national charity, founded in 1978 by Chris Underhill, that uses gardening to change the lives of disabled people.

Thrive (Casting Crowns album)

Thrive (stylized as THRIVE) is the sixth studio album by American contemporary Christian music band Casting Crowns. Released on January 28, 2014 through Beach Street and Reunion Records, the album was produced by Mark A. Miller. Musically, the album, whose concept was inspired by Psalms 1 from the Bible, has a rock and contemporary Christian sound with influences from folk and bluegrass. The album received mostly positive reviews from music critics for its lyrics and musical diversity, but some critics felt that some songs were too similar to the work of other artists or to their own previous work.

Thrive sold 43,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release; although this was short of projections to sell 75,000 copies, it peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart, while also charting in Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, and the UK. The album was preceded by the lead single "All You've Ever Wanted", which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Christian Songs chart.

Thrive (Newsboys album)

Thrive is the ninth studio album by Christian pop rock band Newsboys, released in 2002. It features the singles "It Is You," "Million Pieces (Kissin' Your Cares Goodbye)," and "Lord (I Don't Know)." Thrive debuted at No. 38 on the Billboard 200 charts, selling 37,000 units. In 2005, the album was re-released as Thrive – Special Edition which bundled the album with the previously released concert DVD From The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. When it was pre-ordered it came with the exclusive It Is You EP.

Thrive: From The Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame was released to DVD 18 June 2002. It was available in Thrive Limited Edition in 2005.

Thrive (website)

Thrive or Justthrive.com, was a free, web-based personal financial management application offering personalized financial advice and specifically targeting people in their 20s and 30s. The service offered online money management and planning, as well as using algorithmic advice to offer personalized guidance, based on transactions pulled from a user's loan, bank, and credit card accounts. It was permanently shut down on June 3, 2011.

History

Founded by Avinash Karnani and Ori Schnaps in 2006 as a startup company, Thrive was conceived when the founders noticed that their twenty and thirty-something peers had little access to credible financial planning. After entering private beta in early 2008, it was formally launched at Finovate 08 in October 2008 and reached the "$100 million under management" benchmark in less than two weeks. Thrive was acquired in full by LendingTree in February 2009. Despite the acquisition, however, development remains based in New York City and continues to be staffed by the original team.

Charity (horse)

Charity was a racehorse who won the 1841 Grand National at the second attempt, defeating ten rivals in a time of 13 minutes 25 seconds. William Vevers was the official trainer of Charity. The owner of the horse was William Craven, 2nd Earl of Craven.

Charity had previously taken part in the 1839 Grand National, falling at the wall, which was sited roughly where the water jump is situated on the modern course. The mare was remounted by her rider A Powell only to fall again before reaching the Becher's Brook for the second time.

Dilbert (TV series)

Dilbert is an animated television series adaptation of the comic strip of the same name, produced by Adelaide Productions, Idbox, and United Media and distributed by Columbia TriStar Television. The first episode was broadcast on January 25, 1999, and was UPN's highest-rated comedy series premiere at that point in the network's history; it lasted two seasons on UPN and won a Primetime Emmy before its cancellation.

Synopsis

The series follows the adventures of a middle-aged white collar office worker, named Dilbert, who is extremely intelligent in regards to all things that fall within the boundaries of electrical engineering. Although Dilbert’s intelligence greatly surpasses that of his incompetent colleagues at work, he is unable to question certain processes that he believes to be inefficient, due to his lack of power within the organization. Thus, he is consistently found to be unsatisfied with the decisions that are made in his workplace, because of the fact that many times he has many suggestions to improve the decision, yet is incapable of expressing them. Consequently, he is often found to show a pessimistic and frustrated attitude, which ultimately lands him in various comedic situations that revolve around concepts like leadership, teamwork, communication and corporate culture.

Charity (programming language)

Charity is an experimental purely functional programming language, developed at the University of Calgary under the supervision of Robin Cockett. Based on ideas by Hagino Tatsuya, it is completely grounded in category theory.

Disregarding interactions with the outside world, all Charity programs are guaranteed to terminate or stay productive.

The language allows ordinary recursive data types, such as might be found in ML, which are required to be finite, and corecursive data types, which are allowed to be potentially infinite. The control structure for operating on recursive data types is primitive recursion or paramorphism, and the control structure for corecursive data types is primitive co-recursion or apomorphism. Neither control structure can operate over the other kind of data, so all paramorphisms terminate and all apomorphisms are productive.
