Bush, as well as businessmen from Taiwan, Japan, Kuwait, the British Virgin Islands and the United Arab Emirates, according to documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. As of 2006, at least $2 million had come from Taiwanese interests that had given Neil Bush a job consulting for a semiconductor manufacturer, and at least $3 million came from Saudi interests. A foundation linked to Reverend Sun Myung Moon donated $1 million for a research project by the company in Washington, D.C.-area schools.

    14 Years

"14 Years" is the second track on the Guns N' Roses album Use Your Illusion II.

    Background

The song is one of the few Guns N' Roses tunes sung almost entirely by Izzy Stradlin with Axl Rose singing the chorus.

"14 Years" was only performed live when Stradlin was still in the band. It has been speculated to be about Rose's and Stradlin's friendship, with people pointing out that they'd known each other for 14 years by the time the song was supposedly written, but this has never been confirmed by the band, and many of the lyrics contradict this idea.

It is more likely that this song about a guy that has had a long relationship with a girl that has been a constant burden to him and he lets out all of his feelings in this song. Izzy was still very young when he wrote this song and never had such a relationship of his own so he must have used someone else's relationship as an inspiration for this song.

An earlier demo had different lyrics. However, the first verse and the chorus were only slightly modified, while the second and third verses were given a complete makeover. Parts of the demo's second verse would be used in the third verse of the final version, while the demo's third verse is a slightly modified version of the demo's first verse.

    1,000 Years

1,000 Years is the first solo album by The Corin Tucker Band, released on October 5, 2010, and the first album Tucker released since Sleater-Kinney went on "hiatus" in 2006. She recorded the album along with Seth Lorinczi and Julianna Bright of both Golden Bears and Circus Lupus, as well as Sara Lund of Hungry Ghost and Unwound. Lorinzci was also the album's producer. The album received generally positive reviews from critics, many of whom noted that the album was stylistically more muted than her work with Sleater-Kinney. As of August 2012, the album has sold about 8,000 copies and peaked at #9 on the Top Heatseekers Chart.

    Background and recording

Tucker told The Portland Mercury that she was recording the album in April 2010, and said it was "definitely more of a middle-aged mom record, in a way. It's not a record that a young person would write." The origins of these songs lie in material Tucker wrote for live performances in early 2009 in Portland, after which many people encouraged her to make her own album. Tucker said that she wanted to create something both quiet and powerful in the making of this album. Tucker feels that Seth Lorinczi lent the album many of its creative ideas, and has stated, "He brought so many amazing ideas to the songs, it was an entirely new foray." Some of the album's tracks were written initially for the Twilight: New Moon soundtrack. The songs in question include closer "Miles Away".

    Three Years

    The writing on the wall
The words that I can't read
Three years, is a long, long time
Your heart beats close to mine
    There's no wrong or right
    When it breaks
    It breaks so miserably
    I'm leaving constantly
    You always said that
"I feel dead, nothing left for me"
    The writing on the wall
The words that I can't read
I refuse to let this bury me
Three years, were the best of times
    A time of sacrifice
    There's no wrong or right
    When it breaks
    It breaks so miserably
My world got in the way
    I've paid the price
The constant lies, opened up my eyes
    The writing on the wall
The words that I can't read
I refuse to let this bury me
    The writing on the wall
The words that I can't read
    I think about you constantly
All the obstacles in my head now
I feel nothing, what was said
I hear nothing, and I feel no pain
All the obstacles in my head
    I look at life through
    Black eyes now
My mind, it screams to slow down
I hit a wall every single day
My worst fears, staring back at me
When it breaks, it breaks so miserably
    I'm leaving constantly
    You always said
"I feel dead, nothing left for me"
    The writing on the wall
The words that I can't read
