Three Seasons

Three Seasons (Vietnamese title: Ba Mùa) is an American Vietnamese language film shot in Vietnam about the past, present, and future of Ho Chi Minh City in the early days of Doi Moi. It is a poetic film that tries to paint a picture of the urban culture undergoing westernization. The movie takes place in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon. As the characters try to come to terms with the invasion of capitalism, neon signs, grand 5-star hotels, and Coca-Cola signs, their paths begin to merge.

This was the first American film to be made in Vietnam after Bill Clinton lifted the embargo. The filmmakers were followed by Vietnamese inspectors throughout filming.

Plot

In the misty mornings of Saigon, young girls wake up to pick lotuses from a flower pond, to later sell to American tourists and fellow Vietnamese alike. To pass the time, the girls sing rich folk songs that touch the heart of a poet (Teacher Dao) who lives in an old temple overlooking the pond. Teacher Dao (Manh Cuong Tran) suffered leprosy at the age of 26 and had consequently lost his fingers.

Three Seasons (band)

Three Sesaons is a Swedish rock band and trio made up of Sartez Faraj on vocals, Olle Risberg and Christian Eriksson, releasing rock music with great 1960s and 1970s influences. It is signed to the Swedish Transubstans record label.

The trio was formed in 2009 and their debut album was the double vinyl album Life's Road, with heavy blues rock, psychedelic jams, with touches of folk music, groovy funk and jazz. It was immediately followed by 7" single "Escape". Encouraged by the success, they released a second LP in 2012 entitled Understand the World and an arrangement with Dutch distributors Clear Spot to repress the initial vynil for Life's Road and wider distribution throughout Europe. Three Seasons engaged on a wide European tour to market the albums. Greatly successful in Spain, the Spanish magazine Rock The Best Music chose the band as "one of the ten best 70′s-style bands of the whole century".

Three Seasons have come up with a third album release in 2014 titled Grow, their highest charting release in Sweden.
