Thomas Curley (Wisconsin)
Thomas Curley (May 8, 1825 - February 24, 1904) was an American farmer from Bell Center, Wisconsin who served in the American Civil War, rising to the rank of brigadier general, and later spent four years as a Democratic member of the Wisconsin State Assembly representing Crawford County.
Background and military service
Curley was born in Tremane, near Athleague in County Roscommon, Ireland on May 8, 1825, and received a common school education. He immigrated to the United States in 1851, and settled at first in St. Louis, Missouri, where he became an active member and officer of several militia companies. He entered the military service in 1860, as a first lieutenant in the Missouri Volunteer Militia's Southwest Battalion, and served for six months on the frontier of the state. In June 1861, after the outbreak of the Civil War and the Camp Jackson Affair, he enlisted in the United States Army, and was commissioned a major in the 7th Missouri Volunteer Infantry, known as the "Irish Seventh". Curley was promoted in May 1862 to lieutenant colonel, and in July of that year he was sent home to Missouri to recruit, raising in a short time the 27th Missouri Volunteer Infantry, of which he was made colonel. He participated in the Vicksburg Campaign, the capture of Jackson, the campaign of the XV Army Corps from Vicksburg to Chattanooga, and the battles of Lookout Mountain and Missionary Ridge. He was with William Tecumseh Sherman in his march to the sea; fought at Resaca, Dallas, Kennesaw Mountain, Jonesborough and Lovejoy's Station, and in the capture of Savannah and Fort McAllister. He was in the campaign through South Carolina which captured Charleston and Columbia; was in on the battle of Bentonville, capture of Raleigh, and many minor campaigns.
Thomas'
Thomas' is a brand of English muffins and bagels in North America. It is owned by Bimbo Bakeries USA, which also owns Entenmann's, Boboli, Stroehmann, and Arnold bread companies. It advertises as having "nooks and crannies" in the muffins. The company also produces toasting/swirl breads, pitas, bagels and wraps.
The company was founded by Samuel Bath Thomas (1855–1919). In 1874, he emigrated from England to New York City and began working in a bakery. By 1880, he had purchased his own bakery at 163 Ninth Avenue, where he featured his namesake muffins. Thomas expanded to 337 West 20th Street where today a plaque designates the building as "The Muffin House."
The company, S.B. Thomas, Inc., was incorporated by his family after his death in 1919.
Trade Secrets Case
In 2010, the company won a trade secret suit when an executive downloaded the company's recipes and retired to work for Hostess.

Thomas the Apostle
Saint Thomas the Apostle (called Didymus which means "the twin") was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ, according to the New Testament. He is informally called doubting Thomas because he doubted Jesus' resurrection when first told, (in the Gospel of John), followed later by his confession of faith, "My Lord and my God", on seeing Jesus' wounded body.
Traditionally, he is said to have travelled outside the Roman Empire to preach the Gospel, travelling as far as Tamilakam in present-day India. According to tradition, the Apostle reached Muziris, Tamilakam present day India in AD 52 and baptized several people, founding what today are known as Saint Thomas Christians or Nasranis. After his death, the reputed relics of Saint Thomas the Apostle were enshrined as far as Mesopotamia in the 3rd century, and later moved to various places. In 1258, some of the relics were brought to Abruzzo in Ortona, Italy, where they have been held in the Church of Saint Thomas the Apostle. He is often regarded as the Patron Saint of India, and the name Thoma remains quite popular among Saint Thomas Christians of India.
The Maze Runner
The Maze Runner is the first book in a young-adult post-apocalyptic dystopian science fiction pentalogy of the same name by James Dashner. The novel was published on October 6, 2009, by Delacorte Press, an imprint of Random House, and was made into a 2014 major motion picture by 20th Century Fox. The novel spawned two sequels: The Scorch Trials (2010) and The Death Cure (2011).
Dashner also wrote a prequel to The Maze Runner, entitled The Kill Order, that was released in 2012. He also announced that another prequel, The Fever Code, is set to be released in 2016.
Plot
Thomas gradually discovers that the Glade is run by two boys: Alby, the leader, and Newt, the second-in-charge, who both maintain order by enforcing strict rules. The elevator box surfaces the ground once every month to supply new food, sometimes weapons, and always a new boy. The Glade is surrounded squarely by a mile-high wall made of concrete. Outside the wall is the Maze, a labyrinth of high concrete walls covered in ivy. The Maze houses strange, lethal creatures known as Grievers. Grievers are described as monsters of metal and flesh. The Gladers are trying to stay alive as well as "solve" the Maze by running through it as fast as they can while tracking movements of the walls and trying to find an exit to escape. Every month the box is sent up with a new person called a "greenie" and every two weeks supplies are sent.
