This Is the One

This Is the One is the second English studio album by Japanese American pop singer-songwriter Utada, released by Island Records in the United States digitally on March 24, 2009 and physically on May 12, 2009. The album was originally set to be released in Japan on March 4 but was pushed back to March 14. The album was only released in North America, Japan and some parts of Asia. In Japan, the album topped the Oricon's International Album chart and peaked at number three on the Weekly chart. In the United States, the album peaked at number 69 on the Billboard 200 chart. This Is the One was the supporting album of Utada's 2010 tour Utada: In The Flesh 2010. On December 21, 2009, the Dirty Desire remixes were released.

This Is the One marked Utada's last album with Island Records, and the Universal Music Group as a whole, not only due to the end of her contract, but also due to her 2010 global recording contract with EMI Music. All albums, regardless of language, will be released under "Hikaru Utada", thus also retiring her Western stage name, Utada.

This Is... (book series)

This is... is a series of children's travel books written and illustrated by Czech author Miroslav Sasek between 1959 and 1974.

Sasek originally intended to write three books: This is Paris, This is London, and This is Rome. Because of those titles' popularity, Sasek ultimately extended the series to 18 books.

Four of the This is books were adapted into movie shorts by Weston Woods in the early 1960s: This is New York, This is Venice, This is Israel, and This is Ireland.

The This is series went out of print. In 2003, publisher Rizzoli began reissuing some of the titles, although not in the original publication order. Facts were updated but the artwork was preserved.

  • The Joker Is Wild (album)

The Joker is Wild was the second album released by Alex Harvey after the demise of The Soul Band. The album was released in 1972. Some time after 1972 the album The Joker Is Wild was reissued and repackaged, the album song listings stayed the same, but the album was credited as being made by "The Sensational Alex Harvey Band" even though this band did not exist at the time, and the title was changed to This Is.

    Background

The album was recorded at Regent Sound Studio, London in early 1972. These songs are unfinished demos only, recorded for a Spanish singer named Tony Caldeira (who wrote "The Joker Is Wild" and "Silhouette and Shadow"). Alex was teaching Tony vocal delivery and phrasing. Alex received a cheque for the session which subsequently bounced. The producer, Paul Murphy, sold the tapes to Metronome Records in Germany and they issued the LP as The Joker Is Wild in 1972. This Is SAHB is a low budget reissue of "Joker" intended to cash in on SAHB's success (even though Zal, Chris, Ted and Hugh weren't involved with the recordings). The photo of SAHB on the sleeve features keyboard player John Martin on the far left.

    This Is The One

    by: Stone Roses

    A girl consumed by fire
    We all know her desire
From the plans that she has made
I have her on a promise
    Immerse me in your splendor
All the plans that I have made
    This is the one
    This is the one
    This is the one
    This is the one
    This is the one
    She's waited for
    This is the one
    This is the one
    This is the one
    Oh this is the one
    This is the one
    She's waited for
I'd like to leave the country
    For a month of Sundays
Burn the town where I was born
    If only she'd believe me
    Bellona Belladonna
Burn me out or bring me home
    And this is the one
    This is the one
    This is the one
    This is the one
    This is the one
    She's waited for
    This is the one
    This is the one
    This is the one
    Oh, this is the one
This is the oneI've waited for
    Oh this is the one
    Oh this is the one
    This is the one
    I've waited for
    This is the one
    Oh this is the one
    Oh this is the one
    This is the one
    I've waited for
    This is the one
    This is the one
    This is the one
    Oh this is the one
    This is the one
    I've waited for
    It may go right
    But it might go wrong
    This is the one
    This is the one
    She's waited for
    And this is the one
    This is the one
    This is the one
    This is the one
    She's waited for
    And this is the one
    Oh this is the one
    Ah this is the one
    This is the one
    I've waited for
