These Streets

These Streets is the debut studio album by Scottish singer-songwriter Paolo Nutini, released by Atlantic Records on 17 July 2006. Preceded by the single "Last Request", the album debuted and peaked at number 3 on the UK Albums Chart and was later certified with five Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry for domestic shipments in excess of 1,500,000 copies. It also entered the charts in many other European countries, and in 2011 it was certified double Platinum by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry for sales of over 2,000,000 copies in Europe.

Background

Most of the songs featured on the album were inspired by the end of Nutini's relationship with his long-term girlfriend Teri Brogan, which began when they both were fifteen. Among the others, "Last Request" describes the couple's last night together, while "Rewind" expresses the willing of turning back time before the end of their lovestory. Another auto-biographical intimate relationship served as the inspiration for the album's second single, "Jenny Don't Be Hasty", which tells about Nutini's involvement with an older woman who refused him because of his age.

Frankmusik

Vincent James Turner (born 9 October 1985), better known by his stage name Frankmusik (and between 2011 and 2012, by the name Vincent Did It), is an English synthpop musician. The name "Frank" is derived from the Christian name of his grandfather, whose name he took in tribute.

Early life

Vincent was born on 9 October 1985 in the Thornton Heath district of the London Borough of Croydon. He attended Christ's Hospital boarding school in West Sussex and was member of the house 'Maine A'. He entertained his housemates with constant piano playing. He completed a year-long foundation course at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and went on to study at the London College of Fashion, dropping out to concentrate on music.

Career

2007–2009: Frankisum EP and Complete Me

During 2004, Vincent performed as a beatboxer, under the name Mr Mouth.

Vincent released his debut EP, Frankisum, in 2007. Former school friend and then assistant of A&R at Island Records, Ben Scarr, introduced Island colleague Louis Bloom to Frankmusik's MySpace page, which was getting a significant number of hits at the time. Although already known for high energy electro and happy hardcore, Frankmusik's signing to Island was in part because Bloom recognised a pop star performer beneath the electronic music, telling HitQuarters: "Underneath all the madness there was some great hooks and melodies, and buried even deeper was a voice; it took a lot of time after signing for him to have the confidence to sing without putting loads of effects over his vocal."

Ding Dong

The Ding Dong is a chocolate cake produced and distributed in the United States by Hostess Brands and currently owned by private equity firms Apollo Global Management and Metropoulos & Co; it remains in production and distribution in Canada from Saputo Incorporated under the name King Don. Ding Dong production resumed in the United States on July 15, 2013, after an absence from American store shelves. It is round with a flat top and bottom, close to three inches in diameter and slightly taller than an inch high, similar in shape to a hockey puck. A white creamy filling is injected into the center, and a thin coating of chocolate glaze covers the entire cake. The cake was originally wrapped in a square of thin aluminium foil, enabling it to be carried in lunches without melting the chocolate glaze.

History and naming

The Ding Dong is similar to other cream-filled cakes such as Arcade Vachon's Jos. Louis introduced before 1934. Hostess began marketing its Ding Dong in 1967. The name was given to coincide with a television ad campaign featuring a ringing bell. Hostess went out of business on November 16, 2012, stopping all production. In June 2013, the new Hostess Brands reopened a Kansas product plant and announced that Ding Dongs production would resume on July 15, 2013.

Ding Dong (Dana International song)

"Ding Dong" is a pop song written and performed by Israeli singer Dana International. It won the Israeli Kdam Eurovision (Israeli National selection) on March 8, 2011, represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Germany. It will be released as a music single for the singer a few days after the national final performance.

This was Dana International's second performance in the Kdam Eurovision, after her failed attempt in 1995. It was also her second time in the Eurovision Song Contest as a singer, after winning in 1998 with the song "Diva", and her second time as a song writer and composer, after the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest entry sung by Boaz Mauda, "Ke'ilu Kan" ("The Fire in Your Eyes").

The song failed to go through to the final.
