Broken Glass may refer to:
Broken Glass is the fourth album by Crowbar, released on October 29, 1996.
Broken Glass was a British rock band active in 1975. It was formed by guitarist Stan Webb. The band released one album.
Stan Webb was in the blues band Chicken Shack, but decided to form Broken Glass after playing with blues band Savoy Brown. The new band formed with Robbie Blunt on guitar, Rob Rawlinson on bass, Mac Poole on drums, and Miller Anderson on guitar. The EMI record label backed the band's debut album, simply titled Broken Glass (1975, Capitol Records), which was produced by Tony Ashton. Lack of promotion limited the album's sales, and the band split up. Webb later re-formed Chicken Shack.
Broken Glass was reissued on compact disc in 2005 on the Progressive Line label.
Them or Us is an album by Frank Zappa, released in October 1984. This is Official Release #40.
Its opening and closing tracks are covers: "The Closer You Are", which was written by Earl Lewis and Morgan Robinson and originally released by The Channels; and "Whippin' Post", originally recorded by The Allman Brothers Band.
"Ya Hozna" is actually a forward basic track with vocal taken from "Sofa No. 2" (from "One Size Fits All", 1975), "Lonely Little Girl" (from We're Only in It for the Money, 1968) and unreleased outtakes of "Valley Girl" (vocals by Moon Zappa) played backwards.
Following distribution problems with Zappa's album Thing-Fish, which former Barking Pumpkin distributor MCA Records refused to distribute, Zappa made a deal with EMI Records, which would allow Them Or Us and Thing-Fish to be distributed by Capitol Records in the United States. Zappa wrote a "warning" which appeared on the inner sleeves of these albums, as well as Frank Zappa Meets the Mothers of Prevention, which stated that the albums contained content "which a truly free society would neither fear nor suppress", and a "guarantee" which stated that the lyrics would not "cause eternal torment in the place where the guy with the horns and pointed stick conducts his business."
If you need me, I'll be waiting
In the glances we've been trading
You're so playful, but i'm breaking
'cause i'm lonely upon waking
I don't think you're right
You shove me out of your line of sight
Picture, if you can,
All of your trust in just one man
All this broken glass
And it's falling in my lap
Are you out to bring me down?
Promise or just pass
'cause I need this thing to last
Are you out to bring me down?
If you need me, I'll be waiting
But your interest has been waning
"if you need me" is not a concept
I think you've been entertaining
I don't think you're right
You shove me out of your line of sight
Picture, if you can,
All of your trust in just one man
All this broken glass
And it's falling in my lap
Are you out to bring me down?
Promise or just pass
'cause I need this thing to last
Are you out to bring me down?
I've been waiting so long I forgot why I came
All the words I write down don't amount to my pain
She's forever like a permanent picture
Branded into my brain
What's the point in elaborating
When it all sounds the same?
If you need me, that's a great thing
But, I don't think you've been waiting
I don't think you're right
You shove me out of your line of sight
Picture, if you can,
All of your trust in just one man
All this broken glass
And it's falling in my lap
Are you out to bring me down?
Promise or just pass
'cause I need this thing to last
Are you out to bring me down?
All this broken glass
And it's falling in my lap
Are you out to bring me down?
Promise or just pass
'cause I need this shit to last
