Themed Entertainment Association

The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) is an international non-profit association that represents creators, developers, designers and producers of themed entertainment. Its mission, as stated in its bylaws, is to facilitate dialogue and communication among its members, to stimulate knowledge and professional growth, and to expand the size, diversity and awareness of the themed entertainment industry. Every year since 2007, the TEA hosts SATE, a lecture-based conference about storytelling, architecture, technology, and experience.

Thea Award

The Themed Entertainment Association annually presents the "Thea" award to projects whose achievement has been determined to be of "outstanding" quality. The award is for people or parks in the themed entertainment industry, selected by people from the industry.

Industrial award

An award is a ruling handed down by either Fair Work Australia or by a state industrial relations commission which grants all wage earners in one industry or occupation the same minimum conditions of employment and wages.

Federal awards in Australia have been stripped back in recent years in what they are allowed to contain in order to promote the Enterprise Bargaining Agreement system. Awards in Australia are part of the system of compulsory arbitration in industrial relations.

A similar system was also used in New Zealand prior to the 1987 Labour Relations Act. New Zealand no longer uses the award system, and the only form of collective bargaining is Collective Employment Agreements, which only apply to the particular unions and employers that negotiate them.

The giant-impact hypothesis, sometimes called the Big Splash, or the Theia Impact suggests that Earth's Moon formed out of the debris left over from an indirect collision between Earth and an astronomical body the size of Mars, approximately 4.5 billion years ago, in the Hadean eon; about 20 to 100 million years after the solar system coalesced. The colliding body is sometimes called Theia, from the name of the mythical Greek Titan who was the mother of Selene, the goddess of the Moon.

Thea (TV series)

Thea is an American sitcom that premiered September 8, 1993 on ABC, and last aired on February 16, 1994, for a total of 19 episodes. Starring comedienne Thea Vidale, the series marked the first time an African American female comedienne was the star of a series named after her.

Synopsis

Thea Vidale starred as the sassy Thea Turrell (known for her trademark one-liner of "See ya!"), a widowed mother of 4 who works in a Houston, Texas supermarket by day and runs a 1-chair beauty salon on the corner of her porch in the evenings.

The show was the first to feature Brandy Norwood, who later went on to become a Grammy-winning singer and the star of her own sitcom, Moesha, (with Yvette Wilson as a member of the supporting cast).

Although the show garnered high ratings at first, ratings declined steadily over the course of the season, and the series was canceled after 19 episodes. It ended the season in 43rd place.
