The Rising Tide (Deland novel)

The Rising Tide is a novel about issues confronting women in the years just before suffrage by the American writer Margaret Deland (1857–1945) set in the 19th century fictional locale of Mercer, an Ohio River community that represents Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The novel tells the story of Frederica Payton, a "new woman" who illustrates the extremes of the feminist question.

It was first published in installments in Harper's Monthly from December 1915 through October 1916.

The Rising Tide (Shaara novel)

The Rising Tide (2006) is the first novel of a continuing series by Jeff Shaara based on certain theaters of World War II. It was published on November 7, 2006.

It covers the North African Campaign from its position in late May to Rommel's defeat. It also covers Operation Husky in Italy. The main characters are Erwin Rommel, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and two young soldiers named Jack Logan and Sergeant Jesse Adams. Jack Logan was a tank gunner who was eventually taken as a prisoner of war by the Axis but then freed by Allied forces.

The book became a New York Times bestseller and a Wall Street Journal bestseller less than a month after being published, debuting at number eight on both newspapers.

Rising Tide is a fantasy novel by Mel Odom, set in the world of the Forgotten Realms, and based on the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game. It is the first novel in "The Threat from the Sea" trilogy. It was published in paperback in January 1999.

Plot summary

A reviewer from Publishers Weekly comments: "Odom does an admirable job of bringing the sea setting and its varied species to life. Plot summary
