La Voz... México (English: The Voice... Mexico) is a reality show and singing competition based on the format of The Voice originated in the Netherlands and part of the international franchise The Voice created by television producer John de Mol. Mexico is the first Spanish-speaking country to adapt this format and the first among 6 globally. The show began its first season on September 11, 2011, under the production of Televisa executive producer Miguel Angel Fox. The series' first episode scored a rating of 28.2/47.1, surpassing Spanish-language TV series La Academia rating of 9.6/17. The second season began on September 9, 2012 as scheduled, though was slightly delayed before the airing of its final episode due to the death of judge Jenni Rivera, who died in a plane crash in Iturbide, Nuevo León on December 9, 2012, dedicating an entire episode as a tribute to the late singer.
The official website says of the program:
This program has already become a very famous, because unlike other programs so far, this is divided into three parts and the artist do not have to be locked up almost half a year with teachers in a school.
The Voice – Norges beste stemme (Norwegian for The Voice – Norway's best Voice) is a Norwegian reality singing competition and local version of The Voice first broadcast as The Voice of Holland. It started on 27 January 2012 and the final aired on 25 May 2012 on TV2.
One of the important premises of the show is the quality of the singing talent. Four coaches, themselves popular performing artists, train the talents in their group and occasionally perform with them. Talents are selected in blind auditions, where the coaches cannot see, but only hear the auditioner. Martin Halla from "Team Magne" mentored by Magne Furuholmen won the competition.
The series consists of three phases: a blind audition, a battle phase, and live performance shows. Four judges/coaches, all noteworthy recording artists, choose teams of contestants through a blind audition process. Each judge has the length of the auditioner's performance (about one minute) to decide if he or she wants that singer on his or her team; if two or more judges want the same singer (as happens frequently), the singer has the final choice of coach.
