The Tube (2012 TV series)

The Tube is a 2012 documentary television series produced by Blast! Films for the BBC. It follows the staff and passengers of the London Underground as it underwent the biggest upgrade in its history. It premiered on BBC Two on 20 February 2012 for a six-week run. According to Blast! Films' twitter, there is no plan for a second series.

Series 1

Episode 1 (Weekend) highlighted the difficulties of undertaking major renewal of the tracks without disrupting the weekday service, the engineer works at Harrow-on-the-Hill station which results with no Metropolitan Line nor National Rail services at the station until the completion of the engineer works and the handling of an incident at Leicester Square Station where a woman was pushed onto the electrified tracks at Platform 4, resulting with hundred's of crowds, an arrest (although the suspect was later released without charge) and Northern Line services from North and Southbound trains to pass without stopping before closing the station when the Northern Line is suspended at Leicester Square.

The Tube (TV series)

The Tube was a United Kingdom music television programme, which ran for five series, from 5 November 1982 to 26 April 1987. It was produced by Tyne Tees Television for Channel 4, which had previously produced the similar music show Alright Now and the music-oriented youth show Check it Out for ITV; production of the latter ended in favour of The Tube.

The Tube was presented live by hosts including Jools Holland, Paula Yates, Leslie Ash, Muriel Gray, Gary James, Michel Cremona, Nick Laird-Clowes and Mike Everitt. The brand name was relaunched by Channel 4 as an online radio station in November 2006. The show was directed by Gavin Taylor; Geoff Wonfor directed some of the insert videos along with other staff programme director of Tyne Tees Television Martin Cairns. Many other specials were made, including one for the eve of the millennium.
