Anamaria Marinca

Anamaria Marinca (born 1 April 1978) is a Romanian actress. She made her screen debut with the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic, for which she won the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress. Marinca is also known for her performance in 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days, earning several awards for her performance, and was nominated for the European Film Award for Best Actress, London Film Critics Circle Award for Actress of the Year, Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Actress and National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actress. In 2008, at the 58th Berlin International Film Festival, she was presented the Shooting Stars Award by the European Film Promotion.

Life and career

Marinca was born in Iaşi, Romania. She grew up with a strong foundation in the arts. Her mother was a classically trained violinist while her father was a theater professor at the university level. She studied the violin all throughout her childhood when, at around the age of seven, she had announced she wanted to become an actress.

Stephen Dillane

Stephen J. Dillane (born 27 March 1957) is an English actor. He is best known for his roles as Leonard Woolf in the 2002 film The Hours, Stannis Baratheon in Game of Thrones, and American politician Thomas Jefferson in the 2008 HBO miniseries John Adams, a part which earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination. An accomplished stage actor who has been called an "actor's actor", he holds a Tony Award for his lead performance in Tom Stoppard's play The Real Thing (2000) and is also known for critically acclaimed performances in Angels in America (1993), Hamlet (1994), and a one-man Macbeth (2005). His television work has additionally garnered him BAFTA and International Emmy awards for best actor.

Early life

Dillane was born in Kensington to an English mother, Bridget (née Curwen), and an Australian surgeon father, Dr John Dillane. The eldest of his siblings (his younger brother Richard is also an actor), he grew up in Beckenham, Kent.

At school Dillane began performing in end-of-term plays and had "a certain facility" for funny accents. He often found himself in women's roles, which he says "wasn’t good for my confused adolescent psyche", but also recalls a part in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead as being particularly memorable, noting that shouting "Fire!" as Rosencrantz while pointing at the audience was "a very thrilling thing to be able to do."

Rolf Lassgård

Rolf Holger Lassgård (born 29 March 1955) is a Swedish actor.

Biography

Lassgård was born in Östersund, Jämtland. A keen amateur ice hockey player in his youth, he also joined theatre teacher Ingemar Lind's Institute for the Performing Arts in the village of Storhögen outside Östersund. He then attended the Stage School in Malmö from 1975-78. There Lassgård met the director Peter Oskarson and joined his Skånska Teatern theatre company at Landskrona, where he remained for four years, making his first television appearance as "Puck" in its production of A Midsummer Night's Dream in 1980. Lassgård followed Oskarson to the Folkteatern company in Gävle in 1982, giving a series of highly acclaimed performances.

For his role in Önskas he was nominated for the award for Best Actor in a leading role at the 27th Guldbagge Awards. The following year he won the award at the 28th Guldbagge Awards for his role in Night of the Orangutan.

Lassgård had various small film roles, but his breakout role was Kjell-Åke Andersson's 1992 film Min store tjocke far ("My big fat father") for which he won the 1992 Guldbagge Award as best male actor. He has gone on to play in a wide range of roles in films, notably as policeman Gunvald Larsson in a series of films made in 1993-94, based on the Martin Beck novels, and starring Gösta Ekman, and as Kurt Wallander in the SVT TV-movie adaptations of the Henning Mankell novels from 1994–2007. Since then, he has also played a crime psychologist as the titular character in the crime drama television series Sebastian Bergman. And Lassgard has appeared in 2011 - 2015, Seasons 2,3 and 4 in the TV Norwegian comedy series "Dag", playing a free thinking, free wheeling therapist. In 2013 he starred in the crime series The Death of a Pilgrim, a dramatic retelling of the assassination of Olof Palme and fictionalised account of the discovery of his killer in the 2010s. He had the leading role as Ove in the 2015 film A Man Called Ove.

Alexander Fehling

Alexander Fehling (born 29 March 1981) is a German film and stage actor. He is best known as Staff Sgt. Wilhelm in the 2009 Quentin Tarantino WWII film, Inglourious Basterds and Jonas Hollander in the Showtime original series Homeland as the boyfriend of Claire Danes' character Carrie Mathison.

Life and career

Fehling was born in Berlin, Germany. He studied acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts from 2003 until 2007.

Fehling received the Förderpreis Deutscher Film award in the category of drama for his portrayal of Sven Lehnert in the 2006 film, And Along Come Tourists. He had previously won the OE Hasse Prize from the Akademie der Künste, Berlin for his role as Prince in the theater production of Schneewittchen (Snow White).

Fehling is best known to English-speaking audiences for his role as German Master Sgt. Wilhelm in Quentin Tarantino's World War II 2009 film Inglourious Basterds. Fehling is incorrectly referred to as a Staff Sgt by the English captions. Fehling also dubs his performance in the German version of the film.

Kerry Fox

Kerry Lauren Fox (born 30 July 1966) is a New Zealand actress. She came to prominence playing author Janet Frame in the movie An Angel at My Table directed by Jane Campion, which gained her a Best Actress Award from the New Zealand Film and Television Awards.

Biography

Kerry Fox was born in Wellington. She has had an international career, working in independent films and on television. She received praise and a nomination for the Australian Film Institute Awards for her leading role in Country Life, starred in Danny Boyle's breakout British hit Shallow Grave with Ewan McGregor, and was nominated for the Canadian Academy Award (Genie Award) for her supporting role in The Hanging Garden.

For her role as Claire in Intimacy (2001), directed by Patrice Chéreau, she won the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the Berlin Film Festival. In this film she performed real, rather than simulated, fellatio.

In autumn 2009 she appeared alongside John Simm, Lucy Cohu and Ian Hart in the Duke of York's Theatre production of Andrew Bovell's play Speaking In Tongues. In 2011 she played Oriel Lamb in the television adaptation of Tim Winton's novel Cloudstreet.
