The Jet Age is a period in the history of aviation defined by the advent of aircraft powered by turbine engines, and by the social change this brought about.
Jet airliners were able to fly much higher, faster, and further than older piston‑powered propliners, making transcontinental and intercontinental travel considerably faster and easier: for example, aircraft leaving North America and crossing the Atlantic Ocean (and later, the Pacific Ocean) could now fly to their destinations non-stop, making much of the world accessible within a single day's travel for the first time. Since large jetliners could also carry more passengers than piston-powered airliners, air fares also declined (relative to inflation), so people from a greater range of social classes could afford to travel outside of their own countries. The one exception to jet-powered domination by large airliners was the contra-rotating turboprop design that powered the Tu-114 (first flight 1957). This airliner was able to match or even exceed the speed, capacity and range of contemporary jets; however, the use of such powerplants in large airframes was totally restricted to the military after 1976.

The Superjesus is an ARIA award–winning rock band from Adelaide, Australia. They are best known for their singles "Shut My Eyes", "Secret Agent Man," "Down Again" and "Gravity".
Lead singer and main songwriter Sarah McLeod formed the band in late 1994 with guitarist Chris Tennent, drummer Paul Berryman and bass player Stuart Rudd. Tennent was McLeod's guitar teacher at the time and a veteran of the Adelaide music scene, having played in various bands since the 1980s. The band was originally called Hell's Kitchen before changing their name to The Superjesus on the eve of the 1994 Big Day Out in Adelaide.
Says Paul Berryman of the name: "It was basically just a piss-take on commonly used words in the '90s. Like The Jesus and Mary Chain, "Jesus Built My Hotrod", The Jesus Lizard, Jesus Jones; there's just heaps of Jesus' out there in the music world so we thought we would have that and super was kind of like a '90s catch word."
The group's debut EP, Eight Step Rail, was released in 1996. It spent a couple of months on top of the Australian Independent charts and won two ARIA Awards, in 1997, for Best New Band and also Best Debut Single 'Shut My Eyes'.
I know that it's more
Than you'd care for me to ever tell you
But I left what I thought
Was all that I could ever sell
To anyone who gave anything to keep it all alive
And if I say to you that I wanted to
You'd know that I lied cause
Everybody calls me lonely
I was trying to say I'm only
Close enough to walk away
It kills me everyday
And I could take to living
All the days that I've been given
I could almost walk away
It kills me everyday
You'd try to be sure
But there's no safety in the meaning
If I'm right then it's more
Than just a temporary feeling
I don't know and now I don't care to keep it all alive
And if I say to you that I wanted to
You'd know that I lied
You could be right
Everybody calls me lonely
I was trying to say I'm only
Close enough to walk away
It kills me everyday
And I could take to living
All the days that I've been given
I could almost walk away
It kills me everyday
You could be right
Everybody calls me lonely
I was trying to say I'm only
Close enough to walk away
It kills me everyday
Don't try and say you need it
Never taking the time to see it
I could almost walk away
It kills me everyday
Now I could stay forever
And I know that I would never
Never try to walk away
It kills me everday
Everybody calls me lonely
I was trying to say I'm only
Close enough to walk away
It kills me everyday
