The Story So Far is a greatest hits album released by Keith Urban in Australia in May 2012.

Background

In October 2011, Keith Urban was announced as being a judge on the Australian version of The Voice. The series commenced in April 2012 and, to coincide with this, an Australian and New Zealand only greatest hits compilation titled The Story So Far was released. It features 19 tracks from the Grammy Award and ARIA Award winning artist's albums Get Closer, Defying Gravity, Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing, Be Here and Golden Road.

It was released on 11 May 2012 and debuted at number 1 on the ARIA chart and was the 19th biggest selling album in Australia in 2012.

Bizzy Bone

Bryon Anthony McCane II (born September 12, 1976), better known by his stage name Bizzy Bone, AKA Li'l Ripsta, is an American rapper and the youngest member of the Cleveland rap group Bone Thugs-n-Harmony.

Early life

Bryon Anthony McCane was born in Columbus, Ohio. In 1980, 4-year-old Bryon and his two sisters were abducted and held captive for over two years by his stepfather. Both his sisters were natural children of Bryon's stepfather. The children were put into the backseat of a car and driven off, while their mother was at work. He says that at first, he did not know he had been kidnapped, and was made to believe that his mother and grandmother were dead. During his abduction period, he lived in many homes, apartments, cars and motels, all in Northern Oklahoma. He was often beaten, tortured, and sexually assaulted. In 1983, the "family" had been living on the Kaw Indian Reservation in Kaw, Oklahoma for about a year-and-a-half. A neighbor saw his photo at the end of the made-for-TV movie, Adam, and called the police, resulting in his return to his family.

The Story (American band)

The Story was an early 1990s folk-rock duo composed of Jonatha Brooke and Jennifer Kimball.

History

Jonatha Brooke and Jennifer Kimball first met in 1981 while freshmen at Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts. Originally called simply "Jonatha and Jennifer", they performed regularly throughout the Boston area until graduation, at which time Brooke started working in a dance company and Kimball went to a publishing firm.

In 1989 the duo recorded a demo, "Over Oceans", and were quickly signed by Green Linnet Records. They changed their name to The Story, and their debut album Grace in Gravity appeared in 1991. Elektra Records then snapped up the band, reissuing the album a year later. Angel in the House followed in 1993, but a year later The Story dissolved.

Known for their ethereal and dissonant vocal harmonies, both Brooke and Kimball have gone on to critically acclaimed solo careers. Although The Story's work has been highly regarded by critics and fans alike, both Brooke and Kimball have individually downplayed the band's work.

Doris Troy (album)

Doris Troy is an album released in 1970 on the Beatles' Apple Records label by American soul singer Doris Troy. It features songs written by Troy and a number of the participants on the sessions, including George Harrison, Stephen Stills, Klaus Voormann and Ringo Starr. Through the extended period of recording, the album became an all-star collaborative effort, typical of many Apple projects during 1968–70, although it was Troy's only album on the Beatles' label. Other guest musicians included Billy Preston, Peter Frampton, Leon Russell, Eric Clapton and members of the Delaney & Bonnie Friends band. Like the Harrison-produced single "Ain't That Cute", Doris Troy failed to chart in Britain or America on release.

The album was reissued in 1992 and 2010 with bonus tracks such as Troy's version of the Beatles' hit song "Get Back".

Background

After having a one-off international hit with her song "Just One Look" in 1963, Doris Troy increasingly looked to Britain for continued success as a solo artist. Her brand of soul music was revered there throughout the 1960s and had produced hits for bands such as the Hollies and the Small Faces. Troy settled in London in 1969 and became a sought-after vocal arranger, most notably contributing the gospel-inflected chorus to the Rolling Stones' song "You Can't Always Get What You Want". In the early summer of 1969, at the invitation of singer Madeline Bell, Troy attended the overdub sessions for Billy Preston's first album on Apple Records, That's the Way God Planned It. On meeting Preston's producer, George Harrison, Troy was surprised to learn that he was a fan of her work, and following the sessions, Harrison offered her a recording contract with Apple.
