The Savage Amusement

The Savage Amusement is an original novel written by David Bishop and based on the long-running British science fiction comic strip Judge Dredd. At the time of publication (1993) Bishop was editor of the Judge Dredd Megazine.

Synopsis

Rookie Judge Harry Brisco is taking his gruelling final assessment to decide if he is fit to be a full street judge, and Judge Dredd is assigned as the supervisor who can make or break him. As they hit the streets a mystery virus begins killing all the clones in the city – and Dredd himself is a clone. Meanwhile, Mega-City One is about to hold an election for its new mayor, and opinion polls indicate that undead mass-murderer Judge Death may win. Brisco is about to face the toughest challenge of his life.

Brisco first appeared as a cadet in the 1985 story Thirteenth Assessment in 2000 AD #421, written by John Wagner and Alan Grant.

Savage Amusement

Savage Amusement is the tenth studio album by the German rock band Scorpions, released in 1988. It peaked at No. 5 in the USA, where it became platinum on June 20, 1988. It was to be the last Scorpions record to be produced by Dieter Dierks.

The album was the follow-up to the successful Love at First Sting and had some musical differences when compared to its predecessor. The overall feel of the album shows that Scorpions wanted to experiment a little with some different genres, going to a more radio friendly style and incorporating more synthesized sounds. While there are still some straight hard rock songs, like "Don't Stop at the Top" and "We Let It Rock... You Let It Roll", there are also dance rock songs such as "Passion Rules the Game".

The Savage (1917 film)

The Savage is a 1917 American silent drama film starring Colleen Moore and Monroe Salisbury that is set in Canada and was directed by Rupert Julian. The film is presumed to be lost.

Story

Marie Louise returns home from finishing school, and catches the eye of Julio Sandoval, an emotional half-breed. She is engaged to Captain McKeever of the mounted police, but Sandoval wants her for himself. Finding her alone in the woods, the half-breed carries her to his cabin, but he is taken ill. Marie nurses him back to health, and when a rescue party arrives for her, she protects him. Back in town, Marie discovers McKeever has been taken prisoner by the outlaw Joe Bedotte. Julio goes to the rescue, losing his life in the process.
