The Returned

The Returned (French: Les Revenants) is a French supernatural drama television series created by Fabrice Gobert, based on the 2004 French film They Came Back (in French titled Les Revenants) directed by Robin Campillo. The series debuted on 26 November 2012 on Canal+ and completed its first season consisting of eight episodes on 17 December. In 2013, the first season won an International Emmy for Best Drama Series.

The second season consists of eight episodes and premiered on 28 September 2015 on Canal+. It premiered in the UK on 16 October 2015 on More4, and in the US on 31 October 2015 on SundanceTV.

Premise

In a small French mountain town, many dead people reappear, apparently alive and normal: teenage road crash victim Camille, suicidal bridegroom Simon, a small boy called "Victor" who was murdered by burglars, and Serge, a serial killer. They try to resume their lives as strange phenomena occur; amongst recurring power outages, the water level of the reservoir mysteriously lowers, revealing the presence of dead animals and a church steeple, and strange marks appear on the bodies of the living and the dead.

Resurrection is an American fantasy drama television series about dead people who return to life. The series premiered on March 9, 2014, during the 2013–14 television season, on ABC.

The series follows the residents of Arcadia, Missouri, whose lives are upended when their loved ones return from the dead, unaged since their deaths. The first of the returned is Jacob Langston, an eight-year-old boy who drowned 32 years earlier. Having been found alive in China, Jacob is brought back to America by an immigration agent named J. Martin ("Marty") Bellamy, who defies orders and returns Jacob to the people he identifies as his parents, Henry and Lucille. Jacob's surprise return inspires Arcadia Sheriff Fred Langston and his daughter Dr. Maggie Langston, whose wife/mother drowned trying to rescue the boy, to learn more about this mystery.

On May 7, 2015, ABC cancelled Resurrection after two seasons.During the course of the series, 21 episodes of Resurrection aired over two seasons.
