Sian Evans (born 9 October 1971) is a Welsh singer from Caerphilly. She was formerly a member of the band Kosheen, with whom she found major success across Europe.
Sian Evans — formally singer, and lyricist of the band Kosheen, where she gained success and popularity around the world in the early 2000s with such hits as «Catch», «Hide U», «Hungry» and «All in my head». She has also done other work with Simon Kingman and played live at Glastonbury 2008.
In 2011, she featured on DJ Fresh's song, "Louder", which was used as part of a Lucozade Lite advertising campaign in the UK and Ireland. The song was released on 3 July 2011. It debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart, Download Chart, UK Dance Chart, UK Indie Chart and the Scottish Charts with first week sales of 140,000 copies. It also peaked number four on the Irish Singles Chart based on UK success.
She also appears on several tracks on Roger Shah's artist album Openminded. A new version of "Hide U" along with two other original tracks "In The Light" and "Shine" all appear on the album.
"The Power" is a song by the German music group Snap! from their album World Power. It was released in January 1990 and reached number one in the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, as well as on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play and Hot Rap charts. On the Billboard Hot 100, "The Power" managed to reach number two for one week, behind "Vision of Love" by Mariah Carey. It is particularly known for its hook "I've got the power!"
Written by Michael Münzing and Luca Anzilotti (under the pseudonyms Benito Benites and John "Virgo" Garrett III) and produced by Snap!, it was the group's third single. Featuring a rap by Turbo B and vocals by Penny Ford (lip-synced in the music video by Jackie Harris), the single became a massive international hit.
The song opens with the somewhat enigmatic line in Russian: "Американская фирма Transceptor Technology приступила к производству компьютеров «Персональный спутник»" (meaning "The American company Transceptor Technology has started production of the 'Personal Companion' computer"). "Personal Companion" was a computer-like device for the blind and visually impaired. Released in 1990, it was controlled by voice and could, among other functions, automatically download articles from USA Today by a built-in modem. It was made by Transceptor Technologies of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The Power is a 2010 self-help and spirituality book written by Rhonda Byrne. It is a sequel to the 2006 book The Secret. The book was released on 17 August 2010 along with an audiobook based on it.
