The Peacemaker (1997 film)

The Peacemaker is a 1997 American action/thriller film starring George Clooney and Nicole Kidman and directed by Mimi Leder. It was the first film released by DreamWorks. While the story takes place all over the world, it was shot primarily in the Republic of Macedonia, with some sequences filmed in New York, Philadelphia, and Bratislava.

Plot

In an Eastern Orthodox church in Pale, Bosnia and Herzegovina, an unidentified man (later revealed to be a Bosnian minister) is murdered after being paged to meet someone outside.(The murderer called him "minister").

At a missile base in Chelyabinsk, Russia, SS-18 ICBMs are being decommissioned. Ten nuclear warheads are loaded onto a train and sent to a separate site for dismantling. However, a high-ranking Russian general, Aleksandr Kodoroff, has other plans. Along with a rogue tactical unit, he kills all the soldiers on board the transport train and then transfers nine of the warheads to another train. Kodoroff then activates the timer on the remaining warhead and sends the transport on a collision course with a passenger train. Minutes later, the 500-kiloton warhead detonates, killing the survivors and delaying an investigation.

  • The Peacemaker (1956 film)

The Peacemaker (1956) is a western film directed by Ted Post and starring James Mitchell, Rosemarie Bowe, and Jan Merlin. Hal Richards based the script on the novel of the same name by Richard Poole.

Producer Hal R. Makelim intended The Peacemaker to be the first of a series of low-budget productions. According to Merlin, who played the villain, shooting took only "seven or ten days." Although the film featured some successful character actors like Hugh Sanders in supporting roles, none of the performers qualified as marquee names; in fact, at this point in his career, star James Mitchell was known only as a dancer (despite some dramatic roles at MGM). While Makelim tried to compensate for these problems by marketing the film to a religious audience—the local clergymen were invited to the film's premiere in Wichita--The Peacemaker enjoyed only sporadic distribution and was not widely reviewed. Makelim managed to produce only one more film, Valerie (1957), and Mitchell would not make another film appearance until The Turning Point (1977).

    Jano

Jano is a town and municipality in the north west of the Honduran department of Olancho, west of Guata, south of Esquipulas del Norte and north of Manto.

    Jean Leguay (artist)

Jean Leguay (French: [ləɡɛ]; born 22 August 1955), better known as Jano ([ʒano]), is a French comics artist.

Jano studied fine arts in Paris for three years. His first comic was Kebra in 1978, in collaboration with Bertrand Tramber. It was published in French comic magazines B.D., Métal Hurlant, Charlie Mensuel, Rigolo, L'Echo des Savannes and Zoulou. Kebra is a rat-like character, although Jano's protagonists often defy a correct classification as a certain species. Gazoline, a female humanized cheetah, appeared in Kosmik Komiks in 1983. After a trip to Africa in 1984 Jano created Keubla. His style sometimes is compared to Moebius', but more comical and down-to-earth and with definitely more sex scenes.

In addition to his comics Jano illustrated books for children as well as his own travel experiences. In 2003 Anna Azevedo, Renata Baldo, and Eduardo Souza Lima made the documentary film Rio de Jano, showing Jano exploring Rio de Janeiro.

Gazoline et la planète rouge won the Angoulême International Comics Festival Prize for Best Album in 1990.

    Jano (footballer, born 1986)

Alejandro Velasco Fariñas (born 23 December 1986) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for SV Mattersburg in Austria as a midfielder.

    The Peacemaker

    Get out
    damn it
    Close the door
    don't slam it
Let me be alone a while
To give my nerves a rest.
Whatever you do I love you
No matter what you do I love you
And I want to run out after you
    But I don't know what's best.
If you will take good care of me
    I'll be your caretaker
You'll be the maker of the peace
    And I'll be the peacemaker
If you will take good care of me
    I'll be your caretaker
You'll be the maker of the peace
    And I'll be the peacemaker.
    Hours
    later
I hear the key in the front door
We look each other in the eye
    A timid sorry pair.
    There's a little more conversation
    A little more conversation
A battle's lost and a war is won
I think we've cleared the air.
