He was a king of Epirus during the early Hellenistic period, ruling from 317 to 313 BC. A member of the Aeacid dynasty, Neoptolemus II was the son of Alexander I of Epirus and Cleopatra of Macedonia, making him a nephew of Alexander the Great.
