The Nasty Boys are a professional wrestling tag team consisting of Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags, active from the mid to late 1980s and throughout the 1990s. Their gimmick was that of anti-social punks who specialized in hardcore wrestling and brawling. They were noted for their distinctive all-black "street look", which, while very commonplace among today's wrestlers, was vastly different from the colorful attire of their wrestling peers of the late 1980s and early 1990s. This included graffiti-sprayed T-shirts, chain-adorned leather trenchoats, and their distinctive mullet-hawk haircuts.
Unlike most professional wrestling tag teams, Jerry "Biff" Sags and Brian "Buff" Knobbs were childhood friends (both hailing from Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania) who put themselves together (whereas most tag teams were and still are matched together by bookers). They began their careers in the American Wrestling Association in 1985 and began teaming together as The Nasty Boyz in 1986. They first started moving up the cards while in Memphis, as a heel team against the face team of the Midnight Rockers. In 1988, they moved to Florida Championship Wrestling, where they won five Tag Team Championship between 1989 and 1990. While they were in Memphis, Jerry Lawler gave them the idea to change their look (spandex gold tights and long boots), so Sags and Knobbs decided to cover their bodies. They also painted their faces, but they dropped the face paint when wrestling outside of Memphis.
The Nasty Boys, sometimes referred to incorrectly as the Nasty Boyz, are a group of supervillain mutants who have appeared in various comic book series published by Marvel Comics. This group exists in Marvel's shared universe, known as the Marvel Universe.
They are the personal strike force of X-Men and X-Factor nemesis Mister Sinister. The Nasty Boys can be distinguished from the Marauders, who were a group of mercenaries brought together by Mister Sinister to specifically kill the Morlocks.
Self-proclaimed "Nasty Boy" Slab faced X-Factor member Strong Guy before the full team appeared, The full team battled X-Factor in the next issue seemingly led by U.S. Senator Steven Shaffran. Senator Shaffran (also known as Ricochet) was a mutant who could alter probability in his favor. The Shaffran that appeared with Nasty Boys was a disguised Mister Sinister who had taken the Senator's form in order to publicly discredit him as a mutant terrorist. Sinister tells Shaffran he did it because of the harm that would come to mutants if he became President of the United States. He also tells him that he has a personal interest in the safety of Havok and Polaris.
Nasty Boys is a television action drama series based on the real life Narcotics Officers of the North Las Vegas Police Department. It follows the 1989 film Nasty Boys and aired on the NBC network.
The innovative cops were known locally as the NTNB which stood for the North Town Narcotics Bureau but quickly were nicknamed the North Town "Nasty Boys" by the local drug dealers because of the unit's all black hooded raid uniforms and their quick breeching methods for serving search warrants. The unit caught the attention of the producers of "The Reporters" while they were in Las Vegas for an unrelated show. It was the practice of the unit at the time to allow the local press to ride with them and tape their raids and "Reversals", that's where the cops take over a drug sales location and then pretend to be the drug sellers busting the arriving buyers one by one. Then with the help of the local NBC affiliate would air the bust on the 11:00 p.m. news with the opening, "The Nasty Boys shut down another drug sales location at ..." The Reporters aired a segment showcasing the Nasty Boys serving warrants and speaking their "Say No To Drugs" presentation to local adult and children's organizations.
The Nasty Boys were a trio of relief pitchers from the Cincinnati Reds: Norm Charlton, Rob Dibble and Randy Myers. In 1990, the "Nasty Boys" were key figures in the Reds' charge to the World Championship. According to Rob Dibble, the "Nasty Boys" really was a fivesome including Tim Layana and Tim Birtsas. However, they have gone down in history as a trio.
During the 1990 Cincinnati Reds season, Charlton, Dibble, and Myers combined for 44 saves (Myers with 31, Dibble with 11, and Charlton with 2) and 351 strikeouts, although some of Charlton's 117 strikeouts came as a starter, as he was moved to the rotation late in the season.
The nickname was derived from the lyrics of the song "Nasty."
The "Nasty Boys" pitched a combined 8 2⁄3 innings in the 1990 World Series and gave up no earned runs on six hits. Rob Dibble got a win in Game 2 and Randy Myers picked up one save in Game 4. Prior to the series, Myers and Dibble had shared the League Championship Series Most Valuable Player Award.
Here comes trouble
Trouble with a capital "T"
"T" is for tough, we're ready and rough
TNT that's a nasty
Tonight we're gonna have a good time baby
All night long
I know you're parents think that we're all crazy
I'm not so sure they're wrong
Chorus
Nasty boys
You run away, well we'll play with your toys
Nasty boys
You know that boys will be nasty boys
Nasty boys *oh yeah*
Riding around in a red Rolls-Royce
Nasty boys
Nasty!
Got a head full of rock
Tonight some heads are gonna roll
We're a runaway train, a jet airplane
A locomotive out of controle
We'll be having a party in the back room
Nasty boys
Oh yeah!
We'll be standing in the back of the class room
Making all that noise
Chorus
Nasty boys
You run away, well we'll play with your toys
Nasty boys
You know that boys will be nasty boys
Nasty boys
No doubt about it we're the king of noise
Nasty boys *oh yeah*
