The Lads are an American-based New Zealand band active since the late 1990s. They have played at many church services, youth events, camps and high schools around Australia and New Zealand.[1] Before moving to America, they were a popular act at Parachute Music Festival, and performed at each festival, except for 2006, up until 2007. In August 2010 The Lads confirmed via Facebook that they will return to New Zealand for Parachute 2011. It will be their first New Zealand concert in four years.[2]
The founding members of The Lads were friends as children, growing up together at the same church in Wellington, New Zealand. They started out writing songs for fun, and became known as "Lads."[3] This quickly changed with the success of their second album, Arbor Day. The Lads had a string of number one hits on Christian radio in Australia and New Zealand, and were invited to headline all of the major Christian festivals throughout New Zealand and Australia. In 2000 their album Lost @ Sea won "Best Gospel Album" at the New Zealand music awards[4] and their 2002 their Album Marvel followed suit, taking out the prize again.[5] After their self-titled fifth album The Lads their focus began to shift towards a younger age group. In 2006 the band moved to America to try and break into a larger market.
The Lads are a Christian band, writing both songs of praise and worship as well as contemporary music.

The Lads is the self-titled release from the New Zealand Christian rock band The Lads. It is their fifth album, and the last recorded in New Zealand before they relocated to Franklin, Tennessee, to try and promote themselves to the Christian music market of the United States.
Craighead Caverns is an extensive cave system located in between Sweetwater and Madisonville, Tennessee. It is best known for containing the United States' largest and the world's second largest non-subglacial underground lake, The Lost Sea. In addition to the lake, the caverns contain an abundance of crystal clusters called anthodites, stalactites, stalagmites, and a waterfall.
Located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, the caverns are named after their former owner, a Cherokee native American, Chief Craighead. The caverns were formerly used by the Cherokee as a meeting place and later they were mined by Confederate soldiers for saltpeter, a commodity necessary to the manufacture of gunpowder.
In 1939, explorers found the remains of a Pleistocene jaguar. The persons who made the discovery were cave guides Jack Kyker and Clarence Hicks, who were exploring in the cave during their off hours. They reported their find to Dr. W. J. Cameron and W. E. Michael of Sweetwater, who were the current owners of the cave. The owners submitted the bones to the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, where they were identified as bones of a very large jaguar and an elk fawn. George Gaylord Simpson, a vertebrate paleontologist at the museum, subsequently visited Craighead Caverns in May 1940. During his visit, he recovered additional jaguar bones and made casts of several jaguar footprints in the mud floor of the cave. His excavation and findings are reported in American Museum Novitates, No. 1131 (August 6, 1941) on pages 1–12. The report includes photographs of the bones and footprints.
Lost @ Sea is an album by New Zealand Christian Rock band The Lads. Released in 1998, it was the first Lads album to go international and was released in New Zealand, Australia and the United States.
(V1)
We all said that it was ok
To live our own way - without God
We cut the ties and we began shifting
Quietly drifting out to sea
(CH1)
Now there€™s no solid ground
Where is the truth to be found
We€™re all just floating around and around and around
Lost at sea
You and me
Lost at sea
(V2)
Lost at sea, it feels like we€™re dying
And we€™re all just trying to stay afloat
Our selfish ways are pulling us under
We€™re starting to wonder what went wrong
(CH2)
Now there€™s no solid ground
Where is the truth to be found
We€™re all just floating around and around and around
The waves are starting to pound
We€™re all beginning to drown
All I can hear is the sound of the voice calling out
Calling me
Calling me
(BRIDGE)
All around the waters closing in and washing over me
Drifting down I€™m sinking to the bottom of this stormy sea
Far above I think there is a light but I can hardly see
I lived my own way
But it has all gone wrong
And now there€™s nothing
For me to stand upon
The consequences
For who I chose to be
They€™re getting heavy
Like chains all over me
And now I€™m sinking
Beneath this stormy sea
I€™m suffocating
But I cannot be free
Can You hear me
Can You rescue me
Cause I am sinking
Jesus won€™t You please save me yeah
