The Jungle (Cussler novel)

The Jungle is the eighth novel of Clive Cussler's Oregon Files series. The hardcover edition was released March 8, 2011. Other editions were released on other dates.

Plot

This book is about a series of exploits by the Corporation, headquartered in The Oregon, a ship that from the outside looks as if it is ready for the scrapyard. In reality this is a ruse, as the ship is as high tech as can be. The Corporation is hired by a very wealthy man to find his adventurer daughter, who appears to have gotten into trouble in the jungles of [Myanmar]. What follows is an adventure that takes the Oregon crew to many locations around the world and at sea. The crew ends up being the only possible group that can prevent a super villain from bringing the [United States] to its knees.

It received an average of 4.01 of five stars by 232 reviewers on the Good Reads website. The Barnes & Noble website had 434 reviewers give the book 4.05 of five stars.

The Jungle (Wheldon Road)

Wheldon Road previously and often known as The Jungle, now known as the Mend-A-Hose Jungle for sponsorship purposes is the home ground of Castleford Tigers Rugby League Club in Castleford, West Yorkshire, England. It is on Wheldon Road, approximately 0.7-mile east of Castleford town centre. In 2014, the ground had an average attendance is 7,068; the record attendance of 25,449 was for a Challenge Cup match in 1935.

Layout

The Wheldon Road End is at the north of the ground. It is a standing terrace particularly used by Castleford supporters.

The Main Stand is at the east of the ground with seating for 1,500. A wooden terrace covers a third of the east stand, with the remainder uncovered and for standing.

The Railway End is at the south of the ground. It is an uncovered standing terrace, with a supporters' club, executive boxes and a scoreboard along its top.

The Princess Street Stand is at the west of the ground. It is almost identical to the Wheldon Road End.

Wheldon Road has fast food outlets within the ground, serving hot food, drinks and confectionery, restaurants and a bar.

The Jungle (1967 film)

The Jungle (1967) is a short film about gangs made by African American students under the direction of Temple University professor Harold Haskins. In 2009, it was added to the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically or aesthetically” significant and will be preserved for all time.

The Mže (Czech pronunciation: [ˈm̩ʒɛ]; German: Mies) is a 107 km long river in the Czech Republic. Its source is situated in the Griesbach Forest (726 metres), Germany, near the village of Asch, in the municipality of Mähring, Tirschenreuth district. It forms the state boundary for a short distance of 3 kilometers and then finally enters Czech territory. It passes through the towns of Tachov and Stříbro. At the confluence with the Radbuza, it forms the Berounka in Pilsen. Its major left affluent is Hamerský potok and the right affluent is Úhlava.
