The Hitcher II: I've Been Waiting (also known as The Hitcher 2) is a 2003 American thriller film directed by Louis Morneau and starring C. Thomas Howell, returning as Jim Halsey, Kari Wuhrer as his girlfriend Maggie, and Jake Busey as psychotic hitchhiker Jack. It is the sequel to the 1986 film The Hitcher. The film was released on direct-to-DVD in the United States on July 15, 2003.
Fifteen years after surviving the events of The Hitcher, Jim Halsey (C. Thomas Howell) now works as a police officer. He has recently been suspended for using excessive force on a kidnapping suspect, and decides to visit retired Captain Esteridge in Texas to talk about his lingering mental issues on what happened to him. Jim's girlfriend, Maggie (Kari Wuhrer), is unaware of Jim's past and pleads to come along.
The couple arrive in Texas, and pick up a car Esteridge left for them to drive to his house. The drive on the lonely road triggers Jim's PTSD, and when they see an RV that has been run off the road, blood dripping through the door, Jim refuses to stop and help. Soon, a motorcycle speeds past them and crashes. The driver is seemingly all right, and Maggie insists they take him on board. The Hitcher (Jake Busey) is insistent on making small talk and joking with them, but Jim is overwhelmed and evicts him from the car.
Hitcher is a colloquial expression for someone who goes hitchhiking.

The following is a list of recurring characters from The Mighty Boosh, including characters from the television series, the radio series, and the various stage shows. Most of the recurring characters are played by Julian Barratt, Noel Fielding, Michael Fielding, Rich Fulcher or Dave Brown. For minor and non-recurring characters see List of minor characters from The Mighty Boosh.
The Mighty Boosh centres on the adventures of Howard Moon (Barratt) and Vince Noir (Fielding), aided by the other two members of the central cast, Naboo the Enigma (Michael Fielding) and Bollo (Peter Elliott/Dave Brown), who by series 3 they share a flat with. Bob Fossil (Rich Fulcher) is part of the central cast in series 1, becoming a recurring character thereafter.
In the course of the series a variety of bizarre and surreal recurring characters cross their paths, mostly also played by the same cast doubling up.
Howard TJ Moon is portrayed by Julian Barratt. Howard is an aspiring musician, actor, poet, novelist and photographer. In the first series he works at the Zooniverse as a zookeeper, alongside Vince. In the second series, Howard and Vince have left the zoo and formed a band together. He is vain, despite being described as "generic-looking" and often makes outrageous claims which often turn out to be true (he claims, for instance, to have turned down a lucrative offer extended by Walt Disney himself to sort all of Disney's felt-tip pens). He is unlucky in love, and in series one is in love with reptile keeper, Mrs Gideon. In the series three episode Party, it is revealed that he is a virgin. Later in the episode Vince and Howard share a kiss in order to save Vince's life, leading Howard to announce that he has now discovered his own homosexuality and is in love with Vince. Vince is horrified, but he becomes jealous moments later when Howard begins flirting with a girl.

Jim Halsey and Grace Andrews are driving across New Mexico on spring break. At night, a hitchhiker stands in the middle of the road, near his broken down car. Jim nearly hits him and his car spins out of control. Grace insists that someone else will stop to help him and they speed off.
At a gas station, Jim sees the hitchhiker climb out of a truck. The hitchhiker introduces himself as John Ryder and asks for a ride. Reluctantly Jim agrees. While on the road, the hitchhiker becomes violent and attacks them. The hitchhiker tells Jim the only way to save himself and Grace is to say, "I want to die." Jim hits the brakes, causing the hitchhiker to hit his head and kicks the hitchhiker repeatedly until Grace opens the passenger door and he is ejected.
You're never far away from my mind
Always too far away to see
Controlled explosions wreck the train line
Just can't believe the coast is clear
I get this feelin'
It's such an itch, itch
You're somewhere out there in a landslide
All hope just slippin' through like sand
Telephone lines down in a rainstorm
And I'm like a ship moored on dry land
I get this feelin'
It's such a bitch
You're always far out in the midrange
All around the state boundary spillage signs
Somebody burnt down all the pylons
And your my passport past these mines
I get this feelin'
I wanna hitch
Hitch a ride on your smile
Hitch a ride on your smile
Hitch a ride away from here
Hitch a ride on your smile
Hitch a ride away from here
I get this feelin'
End of the tunnel light just blinds me
While you weep like a willow tree
Send out distress signals to find me
They shine so hard so why can't we?
I get this feelin'
Wanna hitch
Hitch a ride on your smile
Hitch a ride on your smile
Hitch a ride away from here
Hitch a ride on your smile
Hitch a ride away
