Bayside Shakedown The Final (踊る大捜査線 THE FINAL 新たなる希望, Odoru Daisōsasen The Final: Arata Naru Kibō) is a 2012 Japanese suspense action comedy film directed by Katsuyuki Motohiro. It was released on September 7, 2012.

Reception

The film was the third highest-grossing domestic film at the Japanese box office in 2012 and, as of January 5, 2015, is the 96th highest-grossing film in Japan, with ¥5.97 billion.

The Final 1 (season 1)

The first season of The Final 1 premiered on MediaCorp Channel 5 on 24 April 2013. It is a Singaporean reality-singing competition programme created by the director of Hype Records Ken Lim. The judges were singer-songwriter Taufik Batisah, singer-actress Kit Chan and Ken Lim. Fly Entertainment artiste Vanessa Vanderstraaten was employed as the host of the show.Class 95FM radio personality Mike Kasem later joined the show as the second host, and hosted the finals together with Vanderstraaten.

The show is also the first in Singapore's history to produce a female winner from an English-based major reality-singing competition programme. The past winners from Singapore Idol, a similar programme which has already ended its run in 2009, were all males.

On 21 August 2013, Farisha Ishak was announced the winner of the first season of The Final 1, beating Shaun Jansen, the recipient of the Wild Card save. She received a $50,000 record deal from Hype Records and a cash prize of $50,000.

The Final 1 (season 2)

The second season of The Final 1 premiered on MediaCorp Channel 5 on 5 July 2015. It is a Singaporean reality-singing competition programme created by the director of Hype Records Ken Lim. Taufik Batisah and Lim returned for their second season as judges, and were joined by new judge Jaclyn Victor who replaced Kit Chan. Chan later returned to the show as a guest judge while Victor was away for her maternity leave. Season one's runner-up Shaun Jansen joined the show as the host.

Similar to the previous season, the winner would receive a cash prize and a management contract worth $100,000.

Show changes

On 30 June 2015, it was announced via a promotional video of the show that returning judges Taufik Batisah and Ken Lim would be serving on the judging panel for the second season. Season one judge Kit Chan did not appear in the video, and therefore was ruled out of returning to the show. It was not announced whether the show would bring in a third judge to replace Chan, though the season began with only Batisah and Lim as the judges for the first two episodes. On the third episode, it was announced by Lim that the show would be bringing in a third and final judge for the season, and revealed to be Jaclyn Victor.

The Aeroplanes

The Aeroplanes are an English rock band from Liverpool. The Aeroplanes formed in 2003 when Chris Kearney (guitar/vocal), Paul Crowe (guitar/vocal) and Stuart Palethorpe (bass) decided to bring their previous outfit ‘Loveland 1881’ to a close to take their sound in a different direction. They were joined by old school friend Ian McMillan (drums) and the line up was complete. In 2007 bassist Stuart left the band and was replaced by Vicky Edwards. The band released their much anticipated debut album ‘Broken Hearts and Maladies’ in November 2008 to positive reviews.

History

Most of 2003 was spent raising their profile around the Liverpool scene and by 2004 they were regularly headlining shows around the city as well as playing as a charity gig in London in aid of Oxfam’s ‘Make Trade Fair’ campaign. But it was 2005 where things really began to take off for the group: crashing into the top 5 of the indie charts with their debut EP and breaking the iTunes record for an unsigned artist in weekly downloads within a matter of months of each other gave The Aeroplanes the belief and drive to further themselves more. 2005 also saw The Aeroplanes being featured in the movie The Moguls, after Jeff Bridges heard their distinctive sound and personally requested for them to be included on the movie’s soundtrack. Their profile continued to rise as their music was featured on TV programs such as EastEnders, Strictly Come Dancing, as well as US dramas Veronica Mars,One Tree Hill and Cold Case.
