The Duff (stylized as THE DUFF) is a 2015 American teen comedy film directed by Ari Sandel and written by Josh A. Cagan, based on the novel of the same name by Kody Keplinger with music by Dominic Lewis and produced by Susan Cartsonis, McG and Mary Viola. The film stars Mae Whitman, Robbie Amell, Bella Thorne, Bianca A. Santos, Skyler Samuels, Allison Janney, and Ken Jeong. The film was distributed by Lionsgate and CBS Films and co-produced by Vast Entertainment, CBS Films and Wonderland Sound and Vision. The film was released on February 20, 2015, by Lionsgate and CBS Films. It is the first film for which Lionsgate took over CBS Films' distribution functions.
Bianca (Mae Whitman) is enjoying her senior year of high school with two close friends Jess (Skyler Samuels) and Casey (Bianca Santos) who are significantly more popular than she is. She is also the neighbor and former childhood friend of Wesley "Wes" Rush (Robbie Amell), a star on the school's football team, with whom she has fallen out during high school. She has a crush on guitar-playing Toby Tucker (Nick Eversman), and reluctantly attends a party hosted by mean-girl Madison Morgan (Bella Thorne), hoping to talk to him. The party turns out to be a disaster for her, as it's there that Wes unthinkingly reveals to her that she is the "DUFF" of her friend group, the "Designated Ugly Fat Friend." The DUFF does not actually have to be ugly or fat, he explains, it's just the person in a social group who is less popular and more accessible than the others in the group. People exploit The DUFF to get to the popular people.

The River Duff, or Bunduff, (Irish: An Dubh, meaning "the black") is a river in County Sligo and County Leitrim, Ireland. The River Duff is 14 miles (23 km) long, flowing from Glenade Valley in County Leitrim to the sea. In County Leitrim it is also known as the Black River. It is joined by the Ballanaghtrillick River, which runs out of the Horseshoe Pass.
This river along with the Drowes formed the ancient border between Ulster and Connacht.
The Duff River is good for beginner white-water rafters, kayakers, and the like, with approximately 500 metres of class 2/3 rapids and a three metre (10 feet) drop at the end. As it is a short, mountain river, draining the Dartry Mountains and the Ben Bulben, water levels are known to change very quickly, after heavy rain.
The Duff River is also popular for salmon fishing. The fishing season is from February 1 to September 30. The most fished reaches are the lower three and a half miles.
Dub mac Maíl Coluim (Modern Gaelic: Dubh mac Mhaoil Chaluim), sometimes anglicised as Duff MacMalcolm, called Dén, "the Vehement" and Niger, "the Black" (died 967) was king of Alba. He was son of Malcolm I (Máel Coluim mac Domnaill) and succeeded to the throne when Indulf (Ildulb mac Causantín) was killed in 962.
While later chroniclers such as John of Fordun supplied a great deal of information on Dub's life and reign, including tales of witchcraft and treason, almost all of which are rejected by modern historians. There are very few sources for the reign of Dub, of which the Chronicle of the Kings of Alba and a single entry in the Annals of Ulster are the closest to contemporary.
The Chronicle records that during Dub's reign bishop Fothach, most likely bishop of St Andrews or of Dunkeld, died. The remaining report is of a battle between Dub and Cuilén, son of king Ildulb. Dub won the battle, fought "upon the ridge of Crup", in which Duchad, abbot of Dunkeld, sometimes supposed to be an ancestor of Crínán of Dunkeld, and Dubdon, the mormaer of Atholl, died.
When I wake up feelin' victimized
There was nothin' that can stop my eyes
From cryin', cryin'
Nobody likes to be alone
When you put the pressure down on me
'Cause I don't quite fit your imagery
I'm tryin', tryin'
Baby, I'm no superman
Baby, I'm no superman
Eyes like a deep blue sea
Is to dive in, dive in
Love that you give to me
We're survivin', survivin'
When love is gone, I can't carry on
When you know that love is on my mind
When you know that love is on my mind
It's a perfect chance to be unkind
You do it, do it
Within the arms of misery
Being sly you take a chance on crime
But the master has a new design
On loving, living
Out and in the enemy
Out and in the enemy
Eyes like a deep blue sea
Is to dive in, dive in
Love that you give to me
We're survivin', survivin'
When love is gone, I can't carry on
Eyes that open wide
Do you do
The love you give the child
Do you do
Why do you do that to me?
When I wake up feelin' victimized
There was nothin' that can stop my eyes
From cryin', cryin'
Nobody likes to be alone
When you put the pressure down on me
'Cause I don't quite fit your imagery
I'm tryin', tryin'
Baby, I'm no superman
Hey baby, I'm no superman
Eyes like a deep blue sea
Is to dive in, dive in
Love that you give to me
We're survivin', survivin'
Eyes like a deep blue sea
Is to dive in, dive in
Love that you give to me
We're survivin', survivin'
Eyes like a deep blue sea
Is to dive in, dive in
Love that you give to me
We're survivin', survivin'
Eyes like a deep blue sea
Is to dive in, ooh dive in
Love that you give to me
We're survivin', survivin'
Eyes like a deep blue sea
Is to dive in, ooh dive in
Love that you give to me
We're survivin', survivin'
Love that you give to me
Dive in, dive in
Love that you give to me
We're survivin', survivin'
Eyes like a deep blue sea
Is to dive in, dive in
Love that you give to me
We're survivin', survivin'
