The Ducky Boys are a street punk band from Boston, Massachusetts. Since forming in 1995 in the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston, the band has spanned over eighteen years with three tenures that have led to six full-length albums and over 80 songs. The band derives its name from the name of an Irish street gang in the 1979 movie, "The Wanderers".
For the past ten years, the band has been composed of frontman Mark Lind (bass and vocals), Jason Messina drums and guitarist Douglas Sullivan. The Ducky Boys have released five studio albums (the last three from this current lineup) along with several 7-inch records and appearances on compilations. Rich Crimlisk joined the band in 2012 and played on the "Chemicals" EP as well as the forthcoming sixth studio album.
Over the last ten years, the band's sound has evolved from quick punk riffs to more stripped down rock music and a developing message of social consciousness. However, the band's influences, which include Rancid, The Replacements, The Clash, Bruce Springsteen, and dozens of other punk and rock n' roll bands, still remains a prevalent element in the band's sound.
Do we choose or is it chosen?
Is our fate forever frozen?
Do we thaw it out and serve it cold?
What if sometime down the line
we look back at our time
and see through all the lies we're told?
I can see through all the lies we're told.
I won't let you down.
You can burn our hopes and dreams tonight.
No, never. But we won't go down without a fight.
No, never. We've been fed a pack of lies
and we're seeing now this time
that life isn't how it's sold.
The fat get fatter while we fight for scraps
so raise your fist and fight along.
Please don't let me down.
You can burn our hopes and dreams tonight.
No, never. But we won't go down without a fight.
No, never. I call for help but no one's there.
No, never. I pray to god but no one hears.
No, never. No.
"Advertisements have us buying cars and clothes.
Working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need.
We are The middle children of history with no purpose or place.
We have no great war or great depression.
The great war is a spiritual war.
The great depression is our lives.
We are raised by television to believe
that we'll be millionaires and movie gods and rock stars.
But we won't. And we're learning that fact.
