    Released: September 25, 2007

The Dethalbum is the debut album by virtual band Dethklok, from American animated sitcom Metalocalypse. It was released on September 25, 2007. The album features full length songs from the TV series, as well as previously unreleased tracks. Antonio Canobbio contributed the artwork for the record.[3]

The deluxe edition of the album includes an additional disc that features seven bonus tracks, the video for "Bloodrocuted" and the first Metalocalypse episode of the second season. A vinyl LP was released with a bonus track in July 2008.

A tour band, using session metal musicians and headed by Brendon Small, was created to promote the album. Small also provided music videos that are remade specifically for concert performances, which were later released on a DVD included with the special edition of Dethalbum II.

The Dethalbum was released on September 25, 2007. The album was released both as a single CD and a two-disc deluxe edition. The deluxe edition of the album includes an additional disc that features seven bonus tracks, the video for "Bloodrocuted" and the first Metalocalypse episode of the second season. In July 2008, Williams Street began selling a limited edition vinyl version of The Dethalbum on their online store.[8] This version contains every song from the standard album, along with the "Gulf Danzig" remix of "Go into the Water."

The album debuted at number 21 on the Billboard 200 chart, with 33,740 copies sold in its first week.[9][10] The Dethalbum was also streamed 45,000 times when it went live on AOL Music during the week of its release.[11] The album was the highest charting death metal album in the history of the Billboard 200, before Dethalbum II overtook it.[11][12]

A guitar transcription book of this album was released under Alfred Music Publishing, which included a DVD of Skwisgaar teaching the solo to "Duncan Hills Coffee Jingle" and Brendon Small teaching the "Deththeme".[13] Nine tracks from this album are included in the Dethklok bass tab anthology.[14]

Other appearances [link]

"Hatredcopter" was released prior to the album's release on the European edition of the Saw III Soundtrack.[15] An earlier, shorter version of the song "Thunderhorse" is featured on Guitar Hero II.[16] The song "Murmaider" was used in the soundtrack for the video game Brütal Legend.[17]

Dethalbum III

Dethalbum III is the third full length album by virtual death metal band Dethklok, from the Adult Swim animated series Metalocalypse. The CD and deluxe CD/DVD were released on October 16, 2012. It contains music from the second, third and fourth seasons of the show. Like The Dethalbum and Dethalbum II before it, the music is performed by the show's creator Brendon Small and drummer Gene Hoglan. Additionally, the band's live bassist, Bryan Beller, performs on the album.

Release

The single "I Ejaculate Fire" was released on September 4, 2012. The song "Crush the Industry" premiered on Full Metal Jackie on September 14, 2012. The song "Andromeda" premiered on Liquid Metal on September 24, 2012. The song "The Galaxy", along with its music video, premiered on Hot Topic's YouTube channel on October 3, 2012. The album was also released on vinyl on November 6, 2012.

A guitar transcription book for this album was released in April 2013 through Alfred Music Publishing.

Reception

The album peaked at number 10 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling over 20,000 copies in its first week of release. This overtakes Dethalbum II as the highest charting death metal album.

Dethalbum II

Dethalbum II is the second full length album by virtual band Dethklok, from the animated series Metalocalypse. The CD and deluxe CD/DVD were released on September 29, 2009. The album was later released on LP to the United States and Canada.

Background

The album was recorded at Bombshelter Studios and "The Danger Zone" in Los Angeles. The deluxe edition includes a bonus DVD with 52 minutes of never-before-released music videos featured in the 2008 Dethklok tour. Two bonus tracks were originally promised for the deluxe edition of the album; however, Brendon Small had never recorded or planned to include bonus tracks. The announcement was a marketing error. A guitar transcription book of this album was released through Alfred Music Publishing. Six tracks from this album are included in the Dethklok bass tab anthology.

Other media appearances

"Laser Cannon Deth Sentence" is featured as a downloadable track for Guitar Hero 5. "Bloodlines" is featured as a playable track in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. The song "The Cyborg Slayers" was featured in the soundtrack for the game Saints Row: The Third.

The Dethalbum

by: Dethklok

Stand before the jury,
Die in flames of fury,
Comedy is DETH
HATREDY
Step into the spotlight
Laughter is a DETH-right
Crash and burn in horror
HATREDY
Make them squirm
Want to leave
After they buy their drinks
I hate this audience
Regardless of applaudience
Like to take you away
Burn you in piles of hate
I hate the talent here
So dull and so full of fear
I'll beat you all to the punch
With an axe and a hack to the guts
I'll take the microphone stand
Run it through your neck
Cut off both your hands
http://www.free-lyrics.org
Is this thing even fucking on?
Are you fucking deaf
Or just too scared to run
Please take my wife
Please take my wife
Then I'll take your life
Then I'll fuck your wife
Just a fucking joke
No it's kinda not
There's a little truth
In every single shot
Fueled by hate
Await your fate
Your time has come
To DIE on stage
It's funny
Because it's not
It's funny
Because it's not
It's funny
Because it's not
It's funny
Because it's not
Because it's not
Because it's not
Fueled by hate
Await your fate
Your time has come
To DIE on stage
Fueled by hate
Fueled by hate
Your time has come
To DIE on stage
DIE
DIE
DIE
