Dark Moor

Dark Moor is a Spanish neo-classical metal and symphonic power metal band from Madrid. Formed in 1993, they produced three full-length albums before undergoing a line-up change in which three members left the band to form their own project, Dreamaker. Afterwards, the band continued under the same name, recruiting suitable replacements in time for their eponymous 2003 album. Since 2002, guitarist Enrik Garcia has been the band's sole remaining founding member.

Background

Dark Moor was formed in 1993 in Madrid, Spain, and recorded their debut album, Shadowland, in the summer of 1999. Dark Moor played live supporting Demons and Wizards on their Spanish tour.

Dark Moor began the recording sessions for their second album, The Hall of the Olden Dreams, in August 2000 at New Sin Studios with producer Luigi Stefanini. During these recording sessions, the band recorded their cover of "Halloween", which was included on the CD The Keepers of Jericho part I - A Tribute to Helloween (Arise Records).

Dark Moor (album)

Shortly before releasing The Gates of Oblivion, the band announced their split. Due to musical differences, Elisa C. Martín, Albert Maroto and Jorge Saez left the band, and formed Dreamaker. Enrik Garcia and Anan Kaddouri remained with Dark Moor. Alfred Romero joined the band as the new lead singer. Jose Garrido (guitars) joined shortly after, followed by Andy C. on the drums. The Chariot (VII) is the seventh trump or Major Arcana card in most traditional Tarot decks. It is used in game playing as well as in divination.

    Description

A powerful, princely figure sits in a swift chariot, pulled usually by two sphinxes or horses. There is often a black and white motif, for example one of the steeds may be black and the other white. The figure may be crowned or helmeted, and is winged in some representations. He or she may hold a sword or wand, or other masculine symbol. The Thoth Tarot deck has the figure controlling four different animals, representing the four elements.

It has been suggested the square on the charioteer's chest is a representation of the earth tattva.

    Alternative decks

  • Other names for the card are The Centurion or Victory.
  • In the Vikings Tarot this card depicts Thor on his chariot ride across the sky.
  • In the X/1999 Tarot version made by CLAMP, The Chariot is Sorata Arisugawa.
  • In the Mythic Tarot deck, the Chariot is depicted by Ares.
  • The Chariot (band)

The Chariot was an American mathcore band from Douglasville, Georgia, that existed from 2003 to 2013. The last lineup consisted of drummer David Kennedy, vocalist and bandleader Josh Scogin, and guitarists Brandon Henderson and Stephen Harrison. The band experienced frequent lineup changes since its inception, with Scogin being the only original member. The band played an abrasive style of hardcore that does not adhere to typical stylings such as melodic/abrasive dynamics and harmonic vocals. They built a reputation around their powerful live performances, with Scogin's lyrics covering topics like materialism, personal struggle, current events, politics, and Christian themes. Their music was critically acclaimed as something "that will melt your face and leave you wanting more."

The band was formed by Scogin shortly after he left his position of vocalist in Norma Jean. In 2004, a record deal was signed with Solid State Records and a debut album was released, titled Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing, Nothing Is Dead, and Nothing Is Bleeding. The band had toured constantly since then. The Chariot released the Unsung EP in 2005, which was then followed by three successful studio albums: The Fiancée in 2007, Wars and Rumors of Wars in 2009, and Long Live in 2010. The band entered the studio in May 2012 to record their fifth full-length album titled One Wing which was released August 28, 2012. The Chariot disbanded following a farewell tour in late 2013.

    Swan Lake

    by: Dark Moor

    [Chorus I]
Her soul will be a swan
    Until
    She feels
    The love of nobleman
Forever her soul will be a swan
    Until
    She feels
    The love of nobleman
    In swan lake
    In swan lake
Tired to ride in the royal hunt
To listen sweet lies that I am wont
    I am the prince!
    The future king!
Boomed in my head my mother's voice
Take to wife! should be my choice
    Oh, cruel fate!
    That my soul hate!
To forget all I fled into the woods
    Searching preys goods
    Then I saw the lake
    Lost in the deep forest
    And its water chorused
    An odd melody
Swans of nice white feather on the dusk
Swam in a dance in harmonious masque
    Hunter I am!
    My bow was prepared
    [Bridge]
But her beauty was shown me in the depth
    Spouting, silent, from the lake
And her pale look kept a sad poem
    Lost in despair
    Dragged into the warlock's lair
    In the shadows
    Like a night tide
    Together we cried
Our lips sealed its secrets way
    And my doubts died
    But when came the dawn
My dream sank covered by dark waters
    [Chorus II]
My princess's tears fall in the moonglade
    The lake is afraid
    The night shows the spell
Then I can feel my heart run into my chest
    Now I know my quest
In the hell of the storm
    I'll break her swan-form
    So inside the waves
    We will find our graves
But the warlock's curse will be broken
The Rothboart's curse will be broken
    The Rothbart's curse broken
    [Chorus III]
    Our spirits will be free
    Will fly
    The sky
    Over the green lake's trees
Forever our spirits will be free
    Will fly
    The sky
    Over the green lake's trees
    Remember us in the stars
