A Southland man has been fined $400 for harassing a sea lion in an incident that appalled nature lovers in the Catlins earlier this year ... The pup was left to a lingering death in the Catlins Estuary.
A pup and her mother were found dead with gunshot wounds in The Catlins in September and October last year, and a third female was found with stab wounds in November and had to be euthanised.
