The Capital

The Capital is a daily newspaper published in Annapolis, Maryland since 1884. Its sister newspaper, The Gazette, is one of the oldest newspapers in America, its origins dating back to the early 18th century. The Capital serves the city of Annapolis, much of Anne Arundel County, and neighboring Kent Island in Queen Anne's County. An evening newspaper for most of its existence, it moved to mornings beginning on March 9, 2015.

The Capital, the Maryland Gazette and their sister publications have a long history, having been composed and printed in numerous locations, all in the Annapolis area, for more than 270 years. The company has moved headquarters seven times, including from 3 Church Circle to 213 West St. in 1948, to 2000 Capital Drive in 1987, and to 888 Bestgate Rd Ste 104 in 2014.

The Capital was acquired by The Baltimore Sun Media Group in 2014.

History

One of the Capital's sister papers is The Maryland Gazette and is one of the oldest, continuously published, newspapers in the United States. The Maryland Gazette was founded in Annapolis in the early 18th century by William Parks.

The Capital (building)

The Capital is a 19-story building situated in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. The Capital was constructed by Wadhwa Developers. It's a commercial building with a mixture of offices, retail and hospitality spaces. It features the world’s largest automated car parking system, and is a green building, with Gold LEED certification.

The Capital has the largest automated car parking system in the world. The car will be parked automatically in the 6-level basement-garage area which accommodates over 1,000 cars.

Sky lobby

The sky lobby, on the 3rd level of the Lobby, has a number of fine-dining restaurants, affordable cafes and lounges, where you can host a business luncheon, brunch or tea. The sky lobby level also overlooks the beautiful, serene garden.
