The Break-Up is a 2006 American romantic comedy film directed by Peyton Reed, starring Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston. It was written by Jay Lavender and Jeremy Garelick and produced by Universal Pictures.
Gary Grobowski (Vince Vaughn) and Brooke Meyers (Jennifer Aniston) meet at Wrigley Field during a Chicago Cubs game and begin dating, eventually buying a condominium together. Gary works as a tour guide in a family business with his brothers, Lupus (Cole Hauser) and Dennis (Vincent D'Onofrio). Brooke manages an art gallery owned by eccentric artist Marilyn Dean (Judy Davis). Their relationship comes to a head after the latest in an escalating series of, "Why can't you do this one little thing for me?!" arguments. Brooke, feeling unappreciated, criticizes Gary's perceived immaturity and unwillingness to work on improving their relationship. Gary is frustrated by Brooke’s perceived controlling, perfectionistic attitude, and expresses his desire to have a little more independence (particularly when arriving home from work, wanting to unwind). Brooke becomes irate when Gary fails to offer to help her clean up after a big dinner party at their home; and, still frustrated from their earlier, unresolved argument, breaks up with him (despite still being in love with him). Brooke seeks relationship advice from her friend Addie (Joey Lauren Adams), while Gary goes to tell his side of things to friend Johnny Ostrofski (Jon Favreau).
"The Break Up" is the fourth episode of the fourth season of the American musical television series Glee, and the seventieth episode overall. Written by Ryan Murphy and directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, it aired on Fox in the United States on October 4, 2012, and features the end of several long-established romantic relationships on the show: the couples Finn and Rachel, Kurt and Blaine, and Santana and Brittany all break up.
In New York City, Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) reunites with her former fiancé, Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith), who has been discharged from the Army, and gives him a tour through the New York Academy of Dramatic Arts (NYADA), causing Finn to feel out of place. Meanwhile, in Lima, Blaine Anderson (Darren Criss), feeling neglected by his boyfriend, Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer), who is busy with his work at Vogue.com, cheats on him. Finn and Blaine sing Duncan Sheik's "Barely Breathing" and Blaine, feeling guilty, decides to surprise Kurt by visiting him in New York City.
Recess is an American animated television series created by Paul Germain and Joe Ansolabehere (credited as "Paul and Joe") and produced by Walt Disney Television Animation. The series focuses on six elementary school students and their interaction with other classmates and teachers. Recess first aired on ABC from 1997 through to 2001, and reruns aired on Disney Channel in the United States.
The show premiered on August 31, 1997 with the first season spanning 26 episodes. The second season premiered on Saturday, September 12, 1998. Disney brought the show back for a third season of 8 episodes which began on September 11, 1999 premiering on ABC as part of Disney's One Saturday Morning while the fourth season premiered at the same time, but airing on UPN as part of Disney's One Too. Season three was notably shorter than the previous ABC seasons. This was because the staff were busy with Recess: School's Out. Outside of the U.S., the individual 11 minute episodes of season three and season four were weaved together to create one long season. Season five premiered on September 9, 2000 while season six premiered on October 31, 2001 concluding the series with the last episode airing in November 2001.
A relationship breakup, often referred to simply as a breakup, is the termination of an intimate relationship by any means other than death. The act is commonly termed "dumping [someone]" in slang when it is initiated by one partner. The term is less likely to be applied to a married couple, where a breakup is typically called a separation or divorce. When a couple engaged to be married breaks up, it is typically called a "broken engagement".
Susie Orbach (1992) has argued that the dissolution of dating and cohabiting relationships can be as painful as or more painful than divorce because these nonmarital relationships are less socially recognized.
Several psychological models have been proposed to explain the process of a relationship breakup, many suggesting that 'relationship dissolution occurs in stages'.
L. Lee proposes that there are five stages ultimately leading up to a breakup.
"Break Up" is the first single from Mario's fourth studio album D.N.A., it features Gucci Mane and Sean Garrett. The lead single was produced by Bangladesh, written by Sean Garrett and Shondrae Crawford, mixed by Fabian. The single was first premiered on the radio station V-103 at March 30, 2009 with Greg Street. Some vocals in the chorus sample Surf Club's "I Can't Miss".
Break Up was composed using a loop from Image-Line's FL Studio software named "flute riff." The drums are simplistic and resemble Bangladesh's previous produced songs such as Beyoncé's "Diva" and Lil Wayne's "A Milli."
He describes the song as, "it’s a little bit of everything on this record. That’s why I love it. Sean is like a brother to me. He knows me. So, when he did this record, he was definitely thinking about me. It’s a club record and every man has experienced this situation before. It’s like why would you want to break up with me when you gon’ get the same thing with the next man. But, he ain’t gon do it as fly as I can. I can’t wait to perform it. It’s going to be a movie. Look for the movie! We’re not calling this a single or a video, we’re calling it a movie

It received awards at international film-festivals and had its German premiere at Berlin Independent Film Festival 2015. It is the second, most experimental instalment of Tuschinski's informal Trilogy of Rebellion - three very different feature films connected by the same thoughts and ideas, although each tells an independent story with new characters: Menschenliebe, Break-Up and Timeless.
The film is about a satire on modern life and on the nature of power, interweaving many subplots to create an overview of young people's lives today. It is told in an experimental visual- and editing style. The film has been called an experimental film.
The film consists of four chapters that are explicitly named in the storyline. Their names correspond with the general theme of each chapter:
