The Bachelor (season 13)

The thirteenth season of ABC reality television series The Bachelor. The season premiere aired on January 5, 2009. The show features a previous contestant from the ABC show The Bachelorette and the series' first single parent from Kirkland, Washington, Jason Mesnick, counting 25 women. Mesnick became the second former The Bachelorette suitor ever competed on The Bachelor since Bob Guiney of season 1 of The Bachelorette and season 4 of The Bachelor.

On the 'After The Final Rose" special, Jason and Melissa broke up after Jason admitted he was still in love with runner-up Molly. Jason then asked Molly for another chance, and they started a relationship. They became engaged in New Zealand that October (2009). They were married in February 2010 and began living in Washington state with Jason's son, Ty. They had a daughter, Riley. Melissa went on to married to Tye Strickland, with whom she had daughter Ava and son Beckett.

    The Bachelor is an American reality television dating game show that debuted on March 25, 2002, on ABC. The show is hosted by Chris Harrison. The show's success has resulted in several spin-offs including The Bachelorette, Bachelor Pad, and Bachelor in Paradise.

    Production

    It is produced and directed by Mike Fleiss and is filmed by camera operator Jesse Fleiss. Supervising producer (2013–14) is Elan Gale. The After The Final Rose and other reunion specials are produced at Victory Studios in Glendale, CA.

    Plot

    As the show is designed, the series revolves around a single bachelor (deemed eligible) who starts with a pool of romantic interests (typically 25) from whom the bachelor is expected to select a wife. During the course of the season, the bachelor eliminates candidates (see The elimination process), with the bachelor proposing marriage to his final selection. The participants travel to romantic and exotic locations for their adventures, and the conflicts in the series, both internal and external, stem from the elimination-style format of the show.
