Animal song

An animal song is a repetitive vocal utterance of animals such as birds and whales. The term is not clearly defined in the scientific literature, though most investigators agree that an animal song must have syllabic diversity and temporal regularity akin to the repetitive and transformative patterns which define human music.

Motifs and different categories of sound syllables set animal song apart from repetitive animal vocalizations.

In some cases such as birds and cetaceans, the songs are learned from adults. Other mammals besides whales, such as canines and rodents are being studied for evidence of learned animal song.

The Animal is a 2001 comedy film, starring Rob Schneider, Colleen Haskell, Ed Asner, and John C. McGinley.

Schneider plays Marvin Mange, a man who is critically injured but unknown to him he is put back together by a mad scientist who transplants animal parts, resulting in strange permanent changes to his behavior.

    Plot

Marvin Mange (Rob Schneider) is an awkward, clumsy nice-guy who dreams of being a police officer like his dad was. He continuously attempts to pass the physical test to become a full-fledged police officer, but he just can't seem to finish the obstacle course. Marvin gets constantly mistreated by Sgt. Sisk (John C. McGinley).

One day, while alone at the station, he receives a robbery call. With all of the real policemen out at a softball game, Marvin rushes to the scene. Along the way, he swerves to avoid a seal in the road and crashes over a cliff. He is critically injured, but is rescued by Dr. Wilder (Michael Caton), a mad scientist who puts Marvin back together using animal parts.

    The Animal (Disturbed song)

"The Animal" is a song by American metal band Disturbed, and the third single from their fifth studio album, Asylum. It was released as a single on October 4, 2010.

    Song meaning

According to vocalist David Draiman, "The Animal" is inspired by the movie The Wolfman. It is about somebody who transforms into a werewolf under the light of the full moon, detailing their feelings as the beast within takes over.

    Music video

A music video for "The Animal" premiered on November 16, 2010, on MTV2. The music video was directed by Charlie Terrell. It was the first music video from the album Asylum to feature all the band members, as "Another Way to Die" did not feature any of them and "Asylum" only featured lead singer David Draiman.

walking on two feet is boring. admit it. humans are lame. we don't even have wings. we have to build a plane. so what I'm trying to say is naturally we aren't cool. now animals, they got it going on. they absolutely rule. in my dreams I have a shell that protects me from mean things. monkeys swing with tails in tall trees. you all should be ashamed. 'cause though you can build your rope swing, it'll never be the same. we burn gasoline to get where we want to go. that cheetah burned off calories and passed us long ago. in my dreams I have a tail that I chase when I get bored. i'll never give up hope. i can be whatever I want. i want to have a pocket in my belly like a kangaroo. wanna wake the neighbors up with my own cockadoodle doo. wish I had some gills I'd say what's up to all my fishy friends. if I was a penguin I would slip n' slide until the end.
