Tetsu is a modern Japanese restaurant located in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City. Conceived by Michelin-starred chef Masa Takayama, Tetsu serves a Yakitori-based menu with an emphasis upon grilled fare. Similar to Takayama’s other restaurant ventures, Tetsu features both a la carte and Omakase menus. The restaurant will feature two floors, with a casual ground floor space featuring cocktails and small plates, and a cellar space which will feature a twenty-course tasting menu.

Designed by architecture firm MNDPC, Tetsu is currently under construction as of November 2015.

    Background

Prior to Tetsu, chef Takayama has opened three other major ventures, beginning in 2004 with his eponymous three Michelin-starred restaurant, Masa, in the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle in New York City, barMASA in the Aria Resort & Casino on The Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada, and most recently Kappo Masa, within the flagship location of the Gagosian Gallery on Madison Avenue in New York City’s Upper East Side neighborhood.

    Tetsuya (musician)

Tetsuya (born October 3, 1969, in Shiga Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese musician, best known as the leader and bassist of the rock band L'Arc-en-Ciel. Formerly known by the stage name tetsu, on December 1, 2009 he started to use his birth name. While in L'Arc-en-Ciel his name is stylized as tetsuya, whereas in his solo work it is stylized as TETSUYA.

He also does backup vocals in L'Arc-en-Ciel and has composed many of the band's songs, including "Link", "Ready Steady Go", "Finale", "Driver's High", "Stay Away", "Pieces" and "Good Luck My Way". In 2001 he started a solo career under the name TETSU69 (1969 is his birth year). On November 26, 2006, he released one song under his old stage name, and as of December 10, 2009 he uses his birth name. From 2005 to 2006 he was a support member of, Dead End front man, Morrie's solo project Creature Creature.

    Playing style

Tetsuya plays with a melodic style. Many of L'Arc-en-Ciel's songs involve him playing counter melodies with guitarist Ken while still holding a groove with the drums. Tetsuya's composing can be seen as more "poppish" as compared to Ken's who has a heavier and sometimes bluesy approach. He frequently uses slides, hammer-ons, and pull-offs in his playing.

    Away

    by: Toadies

    You say forever
    And I confess I shiver
    You say hope
    I say that's where I'm goin'
    To be in the shade
The oldest trees above my head
When I'm away, I know in my heart
    There is a heaven
    If I'm out hunting
    Come right on in, yeah
    And even when I'm gone
    My doors are always open
    And if I'm asleep
Make sure my blanket covers me, yeah
When I'm away, I know in my heart
    There is a heaven
    When i'm away
    To be in the shade
The oldest trees above my head
When I'm away, I know in my heart
    There is a heaven
