The Temple of the Sun (Chinese: 日壇; pinyin: Rìtán) is located in Chaoyang District, Beijing, China. It is within Ritan Park (日壇公园), in the Jianguomen area. The nearest Beijing Metro station is Yonganli on the Beijing subway Line 1.
The temple's altar was built in 1530 during the late Ming Dynasty for use in ritual sacrifice to the sun by the Emperor of China. The area surrounding the Ritan temple is now a public park, and the site features extensive gardens and a small lake.
On the opposite side of Beijing, to the west, is the Temple of the Moon, located in Fuchengmen.
During the 2008 Summer Olympics, it was selected as one of the three protest zones.[1]

Halos for Heros, Dirt for the Dead is the debut EP by American rock band A Day to Remember.
The EP was recorded at Skylab Recording Studios in Gainesville, Florida. The material on the EP was written in vocalist Jeremy McKinnon's garage, and was recorded all in one day live-in-studio. Samples of tracks titled "Camo", "Second Guess" and "Heartless" were posted online around the same time.
The band self-released the EP, it was limited to 2,000 copies. The EP helped the band get signed to Indianola. The cover art was adapted for the 2008 re-release of the band's For Those Who Have Heart (2007) album. In 2012, guitarist Neil Westfall said the band had no plans to re-release the EP. A music video for "Breathe Hope in Me" was directed by Daniel Harrison and filmed during the band's high school days. The video was leaked onto the internet in April 2011.
Day is breaking
A plain is empty
Only stones
Silently stand
They remember blood and glory
They remember a victory
They remember tears and moans
They remember pain, pain
Stonehenge, Stonehenge
A mysterious temple under the heaven
Is an old resident of Earth
This stones worn-out by time still alive
You're a crowning point
Of human wisdom
A frightful symbol
Of prehistory priestes
I touch your stones
And feel your strength
Gods protect you
And give you an eternal life
The temple of the sun
Winds blow on you
Rains wash you
The sun worms you
The fate keeps you
A darkness of ages
Cannot close your beauty
What is your secret
Tell me, Tell me
Who are you ?
Shadows of the remote past
Revive on great ancient stones.
