Bleeding Through

Bleeding Through was an American metalcore band from Orange County, California. Formed in 1999, the band blended influences stemming from modern hardcore punk, symphonic black metal, and melodic death metal. Although the band was often labeled as simply metalcore, when Brandan Schieppati was asked if he considered Bleeding Through a hardcore band, he said: "I think we're a hardcore band and I'll never say we are a metal band, we're all hardcore kids and we came from the hardcore scene. Ours is just a different version of hardcore, we're trying to do something which adds a different variety to the hardcore scene, which has been sounding the same way for so long."

In 2004, Revolver magazine hailed Bleeding Through as one of eight bands ushering in the "Future of Metal" cover story, and Spin called Bleeding Through an "artist to watch" in the magazine's February 2004 issue.

History

Dust to Ashes and Portrait of the Goddess (1999–2002)

Bleeding Through was formed in 1999 in Woodlake, California. The band's roots can be traced back to 1998, when Breakneck was founded by Brandan "Ohrly" Schieppati (Eighteen Visions / Throwdown), Javier Van Huss (Eighteen Visions / The Mistake / Enewetak), guitarist Scott Danough, bass guitarist Chad Tafolla and drummer Troy Born (Taken). They made their live debut as the supporting act to Throwdown and Adamantium. As the band witnessed lineup changes, the departure of Van Huss and subsequent recruitment of Marc Jackson (Throwdown / Cold War) to cover bass whilst Tafolla reverted to guitar, they decided to expand their current hardcore sound and added elements of death metal to their music. The origin of the band's name was explained in an interview as follows: "Well, it is summed up by the explanation that whether black, white, red, brown, yellow, religious preference, straight or gay, we all bleed the same, and we bleed through this life the same. Thus Bleeding Through."

Bleeding Through is the self-titled sixth studio album by American metalcore band Bleeding Through. The album was released through Rise Records on April 13, 2010.

Background

The album is the first to be released by the band through Rise Records due to their shift to Rise after being very open and public about their dislike for Trustkill in 2008, Bleeding Through announced their split with the label shortly after releasing Declaration. In late 2009, the band announced their signing to Rise Records. Craig Ericson, President of Rise expressed his excitement to work with Bleeding Through stating, "We've been huge fans ever since they released an album on Indecision Records. Having Bleeding Through in the family is a dream come true. We both share extreme passion for music and can't wait to show the world what we can achieve together as a team." The band was mutually excited to work with Rise, due to the label's enthusiasm to help the band grow and reach their potential. Vocalist Brandan Schieppati stated, "After 10 years, we have been content with the fan base, the familiarity of touring and the comfort of knowing what to expect at every show. Rise wants to build on that."

Bleeding Through (Once Upon a Time)

"Bleeding Through" is the eighteenth episode of the third season of the American fantasy drama series Once Upon a Time, and the show's 62nd episode overall, which aired on April 20, 2014.

In this episode, After Zelena steals Regina's heart, Regina casts a spell so that she can speak across the realms to her dead mother, Cora, to discover the truth about why she abandoned Zelena. However, when the spell is cast, not everything goes as planned. Additionally, Belle stumbles across what Zelena's ultimate end game is. Meanwhile, in the Fairy Tale Land that was, a young Cora is duped by a man claiming to be a prince, and she finds herself alone and pregnant. But a chance meeting with a real prince could lead Cora to the royal life she's always craved, but she must keep her pregnancy a secret or else risk losing everything.

In the years before the first curse, a young bar girl named Cora is swept off her feet by a gentleman named Jonathan, who tells her that he is a prince. He makes an "I promise you the world"-type vow that he will come back in two weeks with a ring of gold, and proves it by giving Cora a ring he made out of straw. But when Jonathan tells Cora that he has to leave the next day, Cora decides that she is going to sleep with him that evening. Two months later, we find a now-pregnant Cora soaking wet in the rain and her straw ring coming apart, upset that Jonathan never returned. When she reaches the castle, Cora is shocked to learn Jonathan is actually a gardener; She screams in shock and as he takes off, a person comes to her aid, and it's revealed to be Prince Leopold, the future husband of Princess Eva (who he has yet to meet) and the future father of Snow White.
