A teja (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈtexa]) is a dumpling-shaped confection from the Ica Region of Peru. It contains manjar blanco filling (similar to dulce de leche) and either dried fruits or nuts. The exterior is usually a sugar-based fondant-like shell, but there also exists chocolate versions too (known by the blend chocotejas).

Teja is a popular Indian film cinematographer turned director, predominant in Telugu and Hindi cinema. He made a slam bang entry into the film industry with a string of blockbusters, including Chitram, Nuvvu Nenu, Jayam and Nijam
After working as a cinematographer in Hindi cinema from 1984 to 2000, he made his directorial debut in Telugu cinema with Chitram. Chitram is considered a path breaking film which went on to revolutionise Indian cinema.
Teja is famous for casting only debutant actors for all roles in his films. He introduced over one thousand actors and technicians to Indian cinema, including Uday Kiran, Nitin, Kajal Agarwal, Navdeep and Sunil.
He has garnered many awards, notably- Andhra Pradesh State Nandi Award for Best Director and Filmfare Award for Best Director – Telugu for Nuvvu Nenu.
Teja is not only famous for his film work, but also infamous for his short-temper and eccentricity. He is known to often use unconventional ways to obtain satisfactory performances from actors on sets.
Andaz Apna Apna (translation: Everyone has their own style) is a 1994 Indian comedy film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, starring Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles. Mehmood, Govinda and Juhi Chawla make guest appearances. The film was released on 4 November 1994. The plot elements of this movie were later used in other language movies such as Ullathai Allitha (1996), Veedevadandi Babu (1997) and Galate Aliyandru (2000), though none being frame to frame remake. The film was an average grosser at the box office, but has since emerged as a cult film over the years.It was reported that the climax of 1973 movie Victoria No. 203, including the set and the action, was shot-to-shot copied in this movie.
