Teardrop (band)

Teardrop consists of just two members, Jono Renton and Pete Renton. Both are brothers and have been producing music together for years, and their latest project, Teardrop, has taken them the furthest. Both members using different skills to create their unique sound, often associated with such acts as The Album Leaf, Boards Of Canada, Aphex Twin and other Intelligent dance music artists.

History

Formation

Pete made various soundtracks for short films such as linkhere which is currently being played at Cannes Film festival. and also was part of numerous bands. Jono did his own thing studying Music Technology at college and making a small ambient project titled 'Long Journey'.

The two decided to give a shot at writing and recording material together which would then be produced by Peter. The first track they made was a song called ‘Vuttony’ which can be found as a b-side on the Vuttony EP. After that they wrote Vuttony, which was the song that made them continue to create music together, and whilst in Scotland they decided to call themselves Teardrop, after listening to the song Teardrop by Massive Attack. They chose the name while travelling Scotland, in Edinburgh This is also where a lot of the Queensferry EP was written.

Basketball moves

Basketball moves are generally individual actions used by players in basketball to pass by defenders to gain access to the basket or to get a clean pass to a teammate to score a two pointer or three pointer. Dribbling

Dribbling is bouncing the ball continuously with one hand at a time without ever holding the ball. Dribbling is required in order for a player to take steps while possessing the ball.

Crossover dribble

In a crossover dribble, the ball handler changes the ball from one hand to the other using a single dribble. The crossover is a fundamental dribbling technique in basketball used to keep the ball in the hand furthest from the defender (preventing a steal) while maintaining a desired speed and orientation on the court. It is very efficient when executing a drive. Make the crossover, get around your defender, and drive to the basket. A crossover functions best when the ball handler looks and acts like they are headed in one direction, before crossing over to the other direction. This can often be achieved by a simple head fake, or a step in that intended direction.

KMC (musician)

Ken Marlon Charles a.k.a. KMC (born January 5, 1971) is a soca artist from Trinidad. Famous for hits like "Soul on Fire", "Soca Bashment" and "Bashment to Carnival" KMC is signed to the US-based record label Sequence Records. Considered to be one of Trinidad's top soca artists, KMC has over sixteen years experience in the music industry. He has made a name for himself as a solo artist, songwriter, producer and frontman of the band Red, White & Black.

Early years

KMC is one of nine children. He was born and raised in the village of Rio Claro and then moved to Chaguanas, where he has resided for the past eleven years. The road to success for KMC has been filled with both high and low moments. Probably the lowest was the day when, strapped with hunger, he resorted to cracking open a dry coconut in the yard of his one-room home in Laventille, putting a milk pan on a kerosene burner and flavoring the coconut with only a little end of curry powder.

Career

KMC always had a passion for music. As a young child he used to sneak about and listen to the bands in his village. "At the age of seven, I used to go under the house by the band and when they weren't around I would play the drum set." As time marched on, the same energy and precociousness that brought the young KMC to the drum set also brought him to teach himself how to play music. "Music is something I was never taught. I was never taught to play the keyboard. I learned to do everything on my own. Love is what made me master it. Everything I do is by ear and not by reading," he proclaims.
