Tantra

Tantra (Sanskrit: तन्त्र), also called Tantrism and Tantric religion, is an ancient Indian tradition of beliefs and meditation and ritual practices that seeks to channel the divine energy of the macrocosm or godhead into the human microcosm, to attain siddhis and moksha. It arose no later than the 5th century CE, and it had a strong influence on both Hinduism and Buddhism.

Etymology

The term "tantrism" or "tantricism" is an anglicism derived from "tantra", used since the 19th century to refer to a complex and broad body of non-Vedic teachings.

Tantrism

According to André Padoux, "Tantrism" is a Western term and notion, not a category that is used by the so-called "Tantrists" themselves. The term was introduced by 19th-century Indologists who thought that the Tantras were only a very limited aspect of Indian culture. Yet, according to Padoux, "[Tantra was] so pervasive that it was not regarded as being a distinct system."

Robert Brown also notes that the term "tantrism" is a construct of Western scholarship, not a concept of the religious system itself.Tāntrikas (practitioners of Tantra) did not attempt to define Tantra as a whole; instead, the Tantric dimension of each South Asian religion had its own name:

T-Ray

T-Ray I

T-Ray is a villain in the Marvel Comics Universe. The character, created by Joe Kelly and Ed McGuiness, first appeared in Deadpool #1 in January, 1997. Within the context of the stories, T-Ray is an opponent of Deadpool.

Per T-Ray's own account he was born "Wade Wilson." He met his future wife Mercedes while they were attending college in Calgary, Canada and they married after graduating with teaching degrees. While vacationing in Maine, they discovered a wounded youth and they took him into their cabin to recuperate. According to T-Ray, the young man's name was "Jack," a mercenary on the run from his employers for botching his assignment. In an attempt to remain hidden, Jack planned to kill Wilson and assume his identity, leaving his employers to believe that Wilson's dead corpse was his own. However, while attacking Wilson, Jack was accosted by Mercedes, and he inadvertently took her life. Jack fled, although the surviving Wilson remained at the cabin until Jack's employers arrived. Wilson agreed to enter their service and he was trained to kill Jack. Due to his craving for additional power he killed Jack's employers, and became an accomplished sorcerer in Japan, transforming into a more muscular albino form and allegedly trading his soul to entities called the "dark Masters"; he realized that he was becoming as evil as his wife's killer, but refused to care.

Tantra (Kolkata)

Tantra is one of the most popular nightclubs of Kolkata. This nightclub is a property of The Park, Kolkata. It is located at 17 Park Street. Saturday nights are the night parties and Wednesdays are Hip Hop nights at this nightclub.

Features

The club spreads over two levels and it has a floor space of 5,000 square feet. The nightclub has two bars. Saturday nights are the night parties ans Wednesdays are Hip Hop nights at this nightclub. The nightclub hosts live music by the city's best bands and singers, with various kinds of music. DJs perform on special days. Special parties are organized on festivals like Christmas and New Year (English calendar).

As of February 2012, after the Park Street car rape case, the nightclub has tightened their security. They started preserving CCTV footage for more than four days and barred stags.
