Tangi is a semi urban city and block in Khordha district, Odisha, India. It has a tehsil also.
The population is close to 15,000 as per the 2001 census. Tangi has several temples, including the Raghunath temple and the Lokanath temple.
NH 5 runs through the city. Communication with State capital is very good by road and rail. Railway station is 3 km from the city. By road state capital Bhubaneswar can be reached in one hour.

The modern state of Orissa was established on 1 April 1936, as a province in British India, and consisted predominantly of Odia-speaking regions. April 1 is celebrated as Odisha Day. The region is also known as Utkala and is mentioned in India's national anthem, "Jana Gana Mana".Cuttack was made the capital of the region by Anantavarman Chodaganga in c. 1135, after which the city was used as the capital by many rulers, through the British era, until 1948, when Bhubaneswar replaced it as the capital.
Odisha is a genus of flowering plants in the orchid family, Orchidaceae. It contains only one known species, Odisha cleistantha, endemic to the State of Odisha (Orissa) in India. This plant is also detected as a threatened orchid of Chotnagpur plateau.
