Talpa is a 1956 Mexican drama film directed by Alfredo B. Crevenna. It was entered into the 1956 Cannes Film Festival.
Film (Persian:فیلم) is an Iranian film review magazine published for more than 30 years. The head-editor is Massoud Mehrabi.
Film is a 1965 film written by Samuel Beckett, his only screenplay. It was commissioned by Barney Rosset of Grove Press. Writing began on 5 April 1963 with a first draft completed within four days. A second draft was produced by 22 May and a forty-leaf shooting script followed thereafter. It was filmed in New York in July 1964.
Beckett’s original choice for the lead – referred to only as “O” – was Charlie Chaplin, but his script never reached him. Both Beckett and the director Alan Schneider were interested in Zero Mostel and Jack MacGowran. However, the former was unavailable and the latter, who accepted at first, became unavailable due to his role in a "Hollywood epic." Beckett then suggested Buster Keaton. Schneider promptly flew to Los Angeles and persuaded Keaton to accept the role along with "a handsome fee for less than three weeks' work."James Karen, who was to have a small part in the film, also encouraged Schneider to contact Keaton.
The filmed version differs from Beckett's original script but with his approval since he was on set all the time, this being his only visit to the United States. The script printed in Collected Shorter Plays of Samuel Beckett (Faber and Faber, 1984) states:
In fluid dynamics, lubrication theory describes the flow of fluids (liquids or gases) in a geometry in which one dimension is significantly smaller than the others. An example is the flow above air hockey tables, where the thickness of the air layer beneath the puck is much smaller than the dimensions of the puck itself.
Internal flows are those where the fluid is fully bounded. Internal flow lubrication theory has many industrial applications because of its role in the design of fluid bearings. Here a key goal of lubrication theory is to determine the pressure distribution in the fluid volume, and hence the forces on the bearing components. The working fluid in this case is often termed a lubricant.
Free film lubrication theory is concerned with the case in which one of the surfaces containing the fluid is a free surface. In that case the position of the free surface is itself unknown, and one goal of lubrication theory is then to determine this. Surface tension may then be significant, or even dominant. Issues of wetting and dewetting then arise. For very thin films (thickness less than one micrometre), additional intermolecular forces, such as Van der Waals forces or disjoining forces, may become significant.
Talpa is a genus in the mole family Talpidae. Among the first taxa in science, Carolus Linnaeus used the Latin word for "moles", talpa, in his Regnum Animale to refer to the commonly known European form of mole. The group has since been expanded to include nine species, found primarily in Europe and western Asia. The common European Mole, found throughout most of Europe, is a member of this genus, as are several species restricted to small ranges. One, Père David's Mole, is critically endangered. One fossil species, the Tyrrhenian mole is known from the Pleistocene of Corsica. These moles eat worms, insects, and other invertebrates found in the soil.
The females of this genus have rudimentary male features such as Cowper's glands and a two-lobed prostate. A group of scientists suggests that they are true hermaphrodites; however, others state that they are fully functional females.
The following is a list of characters in the Ronin Warriors manga and anime series authored by Hajime Yatate.
Voiced by: Takeshi Kusao (Japanese), Matt Hill (English)
Ryo Sanada is the unofficial leader of the Ronin Warriors. He wears the red Armor of Wildfire (烈火, Rekka), which represents the element of fire and the guiding virtue Jin (仁, Jin, lit. benevolence and dubbed as Virtue). He later acquires the white Armor of Inferno (白い輝煌帝, Shiroi Kikotei, lit. White Sun Emperor). He is often seen with his white tiger, White Blaze. He is brash and impulsive, but has a good heart.
Ryo first appears with White Blaze just as Talpa's invasion begins. The two fight a Dynasty Soldier alone and are almost killed until Rowen appears with the others. Although Ryo defeats the Soldier with their help, he is reluctant to accept them. He agrees to help Mia and Ully find the Warriors after Talpa separates them. Ryo unlocks the Armor of Inferno when he and the Warriors are captured and absorbed by Talpa. He equips the armor by gathering the energies and guiding virtues of four of the other armors.
Tien (meaning Ten in Dutch), previously known as Talpa, was the name of a commercial television channel in the Netherlands. Tien opened on August 13, 2005 as Talpa, following a name dispute with SBS Broadcasting. SBS owned the trademark "TV10" and objected to the use of the word Tien. The owner of Tien, Dutch media mogul John de Mol, decided to rebrand the channel as Talpa, the Latin word for "mole", which is mol in Dutch. Subsequently Talpa became the name of De Mol's holding company.
In the first months Talpa shared its channel with Nickelodeon. On December 16, 2006, Nickelodeon switched to The Box and Tien started broadcasting full days.
In December 2006, Talpa and SBS Broadcasting solved their dispute. Talpa was renamed as Tien.
In the summer of 2007, the assets of Talpa Media were sold to RTL Nederland, which meant the end of the Tien television channel. RTL Nederland used the vacated cable spot to launch a new television channel called RTL 8. Also included in the deal were the broadcasting rights for the Dutch football league and radio station Radio 538. Tien closed on August 17, 2007.
