History

Towards the end of 2011, Talkdesk co-founder and CEO Tiago Paiva conceptualized Talkdesk after working at Procter and Gamble and becoming frustrated from having to look up caller information in multiple systems each time a customer called.

So, he and cofounder Cristina Fonseca entered a contest hosted by Twilio, where the prize was a laptop, and built the first version of Talkdesk using Twilio’s API in 10 days. They were selected to present at Twilio’s conference and after winning were invited to join 500 Startup’s third batch. Since then, Talkdesk has grown to over 140 employees and boast over 1,000 customers worldwide.
