Take It Off (album)

Take It Off is the fifth studio album by American R&B band Chic, released on Atlantic Records in late 1981. It includes the single "Stage Fright", which reached #35 on the US R&B chart, but was the first Chic single failing to enter the US Pop charts, and this album only proved to be moderately successful as well, stalling at #124 on the US albums chart and #36 on the R&B chart.

Take It Off was one of three albums written and produced by Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers in 1981, the other two being Blondie lead singer Debbie Harry's debut solo album Koo Koo and Johnny Mathis' I Love My Lady, which remains unreleased.

Take It Off was transferred to CD and re-released by Atlantic Records/Warner Music in 1991. It was digitally remastered and reissued by Wounded Bird Records in 2006.

"Take It Off" is a song recorded by American country music artist Joe Nichols. It was released in May 2011 as the only single from his seventh studio album, It's All Good. The song was written by Dallas Davidson, Ashley Gorley and Kelley Lovelace.

Background

Of the song, Nichols says, "It takes me back to when I was a kid, and we would go out to the lake or the river and chill out all day. We'd do some stuff that we weren't supposed to be doing."

Critical reception

Kyle Ward of Roughstock gave the song three and a half stars out of five, calling it "a pleasant up-tempo piece of summertime ear candy." In his review of the album, Ben Foster of Country Universe wrote that the song is "a fun enough tune, but it's too forgettable, not to mention interchangeable with any other summer song."

Music video

The music video, which premiered in August 2011, was directed by Potsy Ponciroli and filmed in downtown Nashville.

Chart performance

"Take It Off" debuted at number 60 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for the week of June 4, 2011.

Fantasy Ride is the third studio album by American recording artist Ciara, first released on May 3, 2009, by RCA Records and LaFace Records. The album was recorded between 2007 and 2009. Ciara was executive producer on the album along with co-executive Mark Pittsand, Ciara worked with several record producers, including Blac Elvis, Benny Blanco, Blade, Jasper Cameron, The Clutch, Darkchild, Danja, Dr. Luke, Jason Nevins, Jim Beanz, Los da Maestro, Ne-Yo, Osinachi Nwaneri, Polow da Don, The-Dream, Tricky Stewart, Justin Timberlake, T-Pain. The album featured several guest vocalists, including Justin Timberlake, Ludacris, Chris Brown, Young Jeezy, The-Dream, Missy Elliott.

The album combines R&B and hip hop sounds from her previous albums along with a new pop and dance direction. Fantasy Ride received generally mixed reviews from music critics, who complimented its slow jams and the club tracks, and Ciara's vocal performances, with some critics calling it "a consistently sexy listen" with other critics calling it "Ciara's smoothest ride ever". However, some critics found the album to be a "dud" and others saying "Ciara seems to go almost unnoticed". The album debuted at number three on US Billboard 200, with sales of 81,000. Fantasy Ride became Ciara's third consecutive album to debut within the top three on that chart, making her only the fourth female artist to do so during that decade.
