Take Away (song)

"Take Away" is a song by American recording artist Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott. It was written by Elliott and Timbaland for Elliott's third studio album Miss E... So Addictive (2001) and features production by Elliott, Timbaland and Craig Brockman along with guest vocals from R&B singer, Ginuwine. While the album version credits background vocals by 702 member, Kameelah Williams, the single version replaces Williams's vocals with then-newcomer Tweet.

The song and its accompanying music video is dedicated to Elliott's close friend Aaliyah, who was killed in a plane crash on August 25, 2001. The remainder of the music video features a snippet of Elliott's single, "4 My People", which served as an aptly–upbeat dedication to the victims of the 9/11 attacks and citizens of the United States.

The track was released via radio airplay as the album's third single on October 18, 2001 and began charting as an album cut. Soon as it picked up heavier airplay and debuted on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks at 84, the song was physically released in the United States on November 5, 2001, and in international regions on January 29, 2002.

Take-out

Take-out or takeout (in North American and Philippine English); also carry-out (in U.S. and Scotland);take-away (in the United Kingdom other than Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Hong Kong, and Ireland),parcel (in Indian English and Pakistani English), refers to prepared meals or other food items, purchased at a restaurant, that the purchaser intends to eat elsewhere. A concept found in many ancient cultures, take-out food is now common worldwide, with a number of different cuisines and dishes on offer.

History

The concept of prepared meals to be eaten elsewhere dates back to antiquity. Market and roadside stalls selling food were common in both Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome. In Pompeii, archaeologists have found a number of thermopolia. These were service counters, opening onto the street, which provided food to be taken away and eaten elsewhere. There is a distinct lack of formal dining and kitchen area in Pompeian homes, which may suggest that eating, or at least cooking, at home was unusual. Over 200 thermopolia have been found in the ruins of Pompeii.

Take Away

Take Away is a 2003 Australian comedy movie, written by Dave O'Neil, who also features as a minor character, and Mark O'Toole. It stars Vince Colosimo, Stephen Curry, Rose Byrne and Nathan Phillips. The film starts in 19th century Victoria with the invention of the ever great "Take away".

Plot

Tony Stilano and Trev Spackneys both own, live over and work in adjoining take-away fish and chip shops in Melbourne. Although they have fallen into a habitual rivalry based on a cause long forgotten, the pair unite when the multinational fast-food outlet "Burgies" unveils a new store directly opposite the twin fish and chips shops.

Stilano (portrayed by Vince Colosimo) is an uptight store runner, demanding everything be in order including his drinks- the coldest must always be at the front. Spackneys (played by Stephen Curry), however is the opposite. His chips are made of dirty potatoes and he couldn't care less about health or safety precautions. Both owners are aided by their two romantically linked apprentices. Sonja Stilano (Tony's cousin, played by Rose Byrne) and Dave (played by Nathan Phillips).
