Paul James (actor)

Paul James is an American actor, best known for his role of Calvin on the ABC Family television show Greek. James also starred in the movie The Architect. James graduated from Syracuse University in 2003 with a BA degree in Theatre. He also appeared in one episode of NCIS: Los Angeles.

Early life and education

James was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in the neighboring suburbs of Maryland. He graduated from Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg, Maryland. His mother was a school teacher at Watkins Mill High School in Gaithersburg, Maryland up until 2007.

Greek

ABC Family's Greek aired for four seasons. In the show Paul James plays Calvin Owens, a gay member of Omega Chi Delta fraternity. Fans have applauded both the show for portraying homosexuality in a good light and Paul James as an actor for his portrayal of a masculine gay man living in a fraternity house.

    Paul James (born 1958, Melbourne), is Professor of Globalization and Cultural Diversity at Western Sydney University, and Director of the Institute for Culture and Society. He is a writer on globalization, sustainability, and social theory.

    Background

    After studying politics at the University of Melbourne James was a lecturer in the Department of Politics at Monash University, Melbourne before moving to Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 2002 as Professor of Globalization and Cultural Diversity.

    At RMIT he led and secured funding for several successful initiatives, including the Global Cities Institute (Director, 2006–2013); the UN Global Compact Cities Programme (Director, 2007–present); and the Globalism Institute (Founding Director, 2002-2007; now, the Centre for Global Research) that brought scholars including Tom Nairn, Manfred Steger, Heikki Patomäki and Nevzat Soguk to RMIT. He was appointed to a research position at the University of Western Sydney in 2014.

    Take A Moment (foaled 18 December 1995) is a Standardbred horse and one of New Zealand's greatest ever trotters. Racing from 2000 to 2005, he won 39 of his 67 starts, and his overall prize money of $NZ1,164,356 is only bettered by his stablemate Lyell Creek in terms of Australasian trotters. His biggest wins included two Inter Dominion Trotting Championship Grand Finals, three Dominion Handicaps and a Rowe Cup.
