Take 5 (magazine)

Take 5 is a weekly magazine published by Bauer Media Group in Australia. The magazine is released every Wednesday since 1998 when it began publishing and features a variety of true stories submitted by readers and a pull-out puzzle book, where one can win an array of prizes by completing the puzzles and posting them in. It is aimed at a mainly female demographic, but like its rival is now popular with all ages and genders. Take 5's major rival is That's Life!.

Circulation of the magazine is 174816 copies.

Take 5 (candy)

The Take 5 (known as Max 5 in Canada but now discontinued) is a pretzel, caramel, peanut and peanut butter-filled, milk chocolate coated candy bar released by The Hershey Company in December 2004. The "5" in the name refers the combination of five ingredients: milk chocolate, peanuts, caramel, peanut butter, and pretzels.

Take 5, amongst other candy bar products often included cocoa butter, a fat derived from the cocoa bean. However, beginning in 2006 the price for cocoa butter began to increase dramatically, by 2008 the price per ton had increased from $4,000 to $8,100. This placed pressure on Hershey and other chocolate manufacturers to reduce costs. Staple products such as the Reese's peanut butter cups and Hershey's Kisses were not affected by the price change, but second and third tier products saw a change in their composition, cocoa butter was substituted with other cheaper products, such as vegetable and sesame seed oil. However in the end of 2014, The Hershey Company changed the formulation back to "milk chocolate". Take 5 (band)

Take 5 was an American boy band from Orlando, Florida consisting of brothers Ryan and Jeff "Clay" Goodell, Tilky Jones, Stevie Sculthorpe, and Tim "TJ" Christofore. The band formed in 1997 and broke up in 2001.

Take 5 was one of the many groups whose formulation and promotion were due to the machinations of promoter Lou Pearlman, and all of the members had prior experience in the entertainment industries.

Career

TJ Christofore had won Star Search in 1995 and played the role of Gavroche in Les Misérables on Broadway. Stevie Schulthorpe was previously a model, commercial actor, and theater performer; brothers Ryan and Clay Goodell were both trained pianists and had experience in commercials and theater. Tilky Jones had played drums in a ska punk group called User Friendly. Ryan Goodell replaced Joey Sculthorpe before the group released its first album overseas.

Throughout 1998 and 1999, Take 5 released singles in Europe and Asia and toured in both regions. Their debut full-length album was released in mid-2000 on Elektra. While the album charted in the United States, peaking at #26 Billboard Heatseekers, the group failed to match the success of Pearlman's other outfits such as Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync in the States. Because of contractual issues with Pearlman that could not be resolved, they were forced to disband.
