TOMA (vehicle)

TOMA (Turkish: Toplumsal Olaylara Müdahale Aracı, English: Intervention Vehicle to Social Events), is an armored water cannon designed for riot control, from a Turkish company, Nurol Makina. It is used by the Turkish National Police and Turkish Gendarmerie, and has been exported to countries such as Azerbaijan, Libya, Zimbabwe, Georgia and Kazakhstan.

TOMA can be integrated on to different type of chassis such as 4x4, 4x2, 6x4, 6x2 and 6x6. TOMA can reach up to 100 km/h maximum speed and 30% gradient climbing capability. The critical sub-systems of the TOMA vehicles are also protected against ballistic threat.

Toma cheese

Toma is a soft or semi-hard, Italian cow's milk cheese. It is made primarily in the Aosta Valley (it is one of the region's specialties) and Piedmont regions of Northern Italy. Toma varies with region and locale of production, and is closely related to the French tomme. The Toma Piemontese variety from Piedmont has Protected Designation of Origin status under EU legislation while the Toma di Gressoney, produced in the Gressoney Valley, is officially recognized as a Prodotto agroalimentare tradizionale and is included in the Ark of Taste catalogue of heritage foods. It can have a fat content of 45%-52%.

"Vehicle" is the one-hit wonder success for the Chicago-based band The Ides of March. It rose to number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart the week of May 23, 1970. It is purported to be the fastest selling single in Warner Bros. Records history.

Written and sung by Jim Peterik, the song features a distinctive horn section riff that is still popular today. The song is often mistaken for the horn driven sound of Blood, Sweat and Tears which was popular in the same time range. Peterik wrote "Vehicle" as a joke.

Fourteen seconds of the completed "Vehicle" master tape (primarily the guitar solo) was accidentally erased in the recording studio. The missing section was spliced in from a previously discarded take.

The song was used in a 2014 commercial for Hardee's restaurants.
