Genesis was an annual professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event promoted by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. The name was originally used on May 9, 2003 for a two-hour DirecTV special that highlighted early moments in TNA’s history.
Genesis was actually not amongst the original names used by TNA for its first twelve pay-per-view events, but ultimately was added to the rotation as the thirteenth pay-per-view name during a time of name shuffling on the part of TNA Management. All shows except for one has been held at the Impact Wrestling Zone. Originally Genesis was held in November but was changed to January starting in 2009. For this reason 2008 didn't have a Genesis PPV event. There have only been five World Championship matches in the main event. On January 16, 2014, Genesis was televised as an Impact Wrestling television special on Spike TV.

Genesis (2013) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling that was held on January 13, 2013 at the Impact Wrestling Zone in Orlando, Florida. Nine matches were featured on the card. In the main event was Jeff Hardy successfully defending the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Bobby Roode and Austin Aries in a Triple Threat Elimination match. Other top matches included Sting overcoming Aces & Eights member DOC in a singles match, and Christopher Daniels defeating James Storm to receive a shot at the TNA World Title.
Genesis featured nine professional wrestling matches that involved different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds and storylines. Wrestlers portrayed villains, heroes, or less distinguishable characters in the scripted events that built tension and culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches.
