Transport express régional

Transport express régional (French pronunciation: ​[tʁɑ̃spɔʁ ɛksprɛs ʁeʒjɔnal], usually shortened to TER) is the brand name used by the SNCF, the French national railway company, to denote rail service run by the regional councils of France, specifically their organised transport authorities. The network serves twenty French regions; Île-de-France and Corsica have their own specific transport systems. Every day, over 800,000 passengers are carried on 5,700 TER-branded trains.

TER is an integral part of SNCF Proximités, a branch of the SNCF dealing with urban and regional passenger rail, along with Transilien (Île-de-France), Intercités, Chemins de fer de Corse (CFC), Keolis, and Effia.

Overview

SNCF established the TER system in 1984 to provide a framework for the management of regional passenger services. Since the end of the 1990s, it has been closely coordinated with the regional councils, who sign an agreement with SNCF on the designated routes, the number of connections, the fares and the service levels.

Æter

Æter (Aeter) is an electronic music band from Denmark with a female singer Gry Bagøien. The band existed from 1995 till 2001.

The band released one CD - "Luftantænder" - and several CD-Rs, toured a lot in Europe, created installation art.

The original concept was to arrange the coincidental meeting of sound and picture into so-called "everyday symphonies".

6ter is the 22nd France's national channel, launched on December 12, 2013. The channel is part of M6 Group, which already operates the channels M6 and W9 on the French DTT.

History

Following the call of applications of the CSA for the launch of 6 new channels on the DTT, M6 Group presents 3 projects of channels : 6ter, M6 Boutique & Co and Hexa. On march 27, CSA choose 6ter to be part of the 6 new channels, which will be launch on December 12, and only available on HDTV (1080i).

Train (album)

Train is the 1998 self-titled debut album from the band Train. The album was self-produced for $25,000 and three singles from the album were released. The first single released, "Free", was largely a hit on rock stations. The second, "Meet Virginia", peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the third single from the album was "I Am". The album has been certified Platinum by the RIAA.

Train (roller coaster)

A roller coaster train is a vehicle made up of two or more cars connected by specialized joints which transports passengers around a roller coaster's circuit.

It is called a train because the cars follow one another around the track, the same reason as for a railroad train. Individual cars vary in design and can carry from one to eight or more passengers each.

Many roller coasters operate more than one train, sometimes several, simultaneously. Typically they operate two trains at a time, with one train loading and unloading while the other train runs the course. On the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Walt Disney World, there are five trains, but only four operate at a time (the trains are rotated out on a regular basis for safety reasons).

Basic safety features

Roller coaster trains have wheels that run on the sides (side friction or guide wheels) and underneath the track (upstop, underfriction, or underlocking wheels) as well as on top of it (road or running wheels); these lock the train to the tracks and prevent it from jumping the track. The side wheels can be mounted on the outside or inside of the train, depending on the manufacturer (although outside-mounted wheels are more common). The wheels are sometimes located between the cars, as well as at the front and rear of the entire train.
