Antonio Vega

Antonio Vega (born Manuel Santi, Jr.) is a fictional character on the long-running American soap opera One Life to Live. The role was originated on July 10, 1995 by Kamar de los Reyes, who left in August 1997 and made an appearance in 1998. De los Reyes returned in February 2000 and portrayed the character until March 25, 2009. De los Reyes returned briefly on the episodes which aired April 21 and 22, 2009.

Storylines

Carlotta Vega's elder son Antonio, a former gang member in Llanview's Angel Square, is released from prison in 1995 after serving a seven-year sentence for killing a man. Antonio is well-known among the urban youth of Llanview as "El Leon", leader of the "Prides" gang, but his past crimes haunt him as well as his family. Antonio ultimately proves that his crime had been self-defense; with the help of attorney Nora Buchanan he becomes a lawyer, and then a police officer. He marries fellow officer (and half-sister to Max Holden) Andy Harrison, eventually leaving town for California in 1997. He returns to Llanview in 2000, having divorced Andy, who had cheated on him with her new partner on the force. On the rebound from his failed marriage, Antonio has a casual yet complicated fling with Vega family friend Roseanne Delgado, and discovers unresolved sexual tension with partner Sophia Pellegrino, but finds nothing lasting.

Antonio Vega (born 18 September 1932) is a Spanish former sports shooter. He competed in the trap event at the 1952 Summer Olympics.

Antonio Vega (singer)

Antonio Vega Tallés (a.k.a. Antonio Vega) (December 16, 1957 – May 12, 2009) was a Spanish pop singer-songwriter. He was born in Madrid and died in the same city, succumbing to lung cancer. He was 51 years old. In 1978 he formed the band Nacha Pop out of another band, Uhu-Helicopter. In 1980, Nacha Pop released their debut album. The band broke up in 1988 and Antonio began a solo career.

On April 20, 2009 Antonio Vega was admitted to the Hospital Puerta de Hierro in Madrid due to acute pneumonia that forced him to suspend his tour. He died on May 12, at 51 years old, as a result of lung cancer that was diagnosed 10 months earlier.
